What a great place to relax and enjoy all that Vermont has to offer year round! This 200 year old historic home is massive! All the bedrooms were clean and comfortable and common living spaces were cozy and welcoming. The babbling brook across the street in a beautiful park surrounded by wildflowers is a highlight. We all had a wonderful time at Rideout!

The Historic Rideout is a charming 200 year old registered historic property with all the requisite updates. My wife and I along with our 3 twentysomething children and their significant others found it to be a perfect spot for our summer get together. The Vermont Country Store , the Weston Village Store, a quaint Christmas shop and a new breakfast cafe are all within walking distance. Hiking at Bromley and great fishing spots are all nearby. The house itself was immaculate with a newer pellet smoker for cookouts, hot-tub, firepit, amazing master suite, and ample bedrooms and baths for our needs. David the host was available and very helpful the one time I called and needed him.

Would stay here again!

Overall this was a wonderful home that feels cozy and with a lot of space! Location is good, there’s a good selection of places to visit nearby or mountains to go ski. My only real concern was that it can be quite icy getting up the hill to the parking/garage.

Vermont stay

All in all we had a nice time in VT. The house was cool. Very interesting and Lots too explore. We enjoyed hanging in the main living room and enjoyed watching movies with the kids and playing music. Super close to the Vermont country store, which is why we stayed there.

Wonderful winter getaway!

We were a large group of adults, teens and tweens and this house was perfect for our vacation! There are so many private nooks to have some alone time along with a great open family room and kitchen area to come together. We loved its charm, its coziness and variety of spaces. David was great to work with and very accommodating. Would definitely recommend and book again.

Amazing

We really enjoyed staying here.. Great property that has got a lot of character in it. The highlight of this place that I really liked is the campfire set up beside a small creek. I definitely recommend staying here. Last but not the least, the host was prompt in responding to any questions or concerns I had making sure the check in and check out process was hassle-free.

We were a family of 8 and stayed at the house for Thanksgiving. The house was perfect, clean, plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for all of us. Lovely sitting room with comfortable seating and fireplace. The house was very well stocked with dishes, cookware, etc. We did bring our own wine glasses, which was helpful. It was nice to walk to town to Vermont Country Store, and a few other shops, and there is a pretty park across the street. We would definitely stay again!

All the right amenities in a beautiful old Vermont home.

Wonderful clean comfortable house in the center of Weston

The house has a interesting lay out , but was clean and comfortable . A little shy on glassware for a large group and limited parking. No wine glasses anywhere. But 2 different coffee makers and lots of towels. Well managed and centrally located in Weston, you can walk everywhere. Enjoyed our stay very much !

Group Getaway

Our group of college friends and our families had a wonderful weekend stay at this home. Even though the weather was rainy and cold, the spacious living and dining areas made it easy for everyone to relax, catch up, and spend quality time together indoors. The kids especially loved the game room, and the hot tub was a perfect way to warm up after being outside. The house comfortably accommodated all of our guests, and we appreciated the well-stocked kitchen and large pantry area, which made meal prep easy for a large group. The location was another highlight — we were able to conveniently walk to the Vermont Country Store and the Village Store, and the park across the street was great for outdoor games and activities whenever the rain let up. The only minor drawbacks were the limited parking and the close proximity to the neighboring home, though additional parking was available just a short two-minute walk away. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would gladly return.

Great spot!

The house is fantastic, and in a great location. Despite all the floods the week before everyone on our golf trip had a great time. Just be cognitive of the neighbors at night as our small group didn’t realize they are right next door. David the host was great the house is awesome and everyone had a fantastic time! Would love to rent again with my wife and son!

Spacious home in a nice location

Our extended family of 15 enjoyed our stay at The Historic Rideout. The house is spacious and is nicely equipped. It is in a nice quiet location with a small waterfall and park across the street which we used for a family photoshoot. The owner was very responsive to our questions. The owner provided a lot of information on the house and the area. The Vermont Country Store was a 5 minute walk away.

Great place

This house was more than large enough for 15 people (8 adults, 7 kids). Very short walk to town and 15 minute drive to Ludlow. The house itself is fantastic! Rustic floors and lots of natural light. Two streams, one in back next to fire pit with great view of surrounding hills and foliage, and another stream in front across the street. The property owner was very easy to work with and responsive.

A fantastic weekend in this spacious, cozy home!

Our weekend stay at this home was fantastic. The spacious common areas gave us plenty of room to gather, whether we were enjoying a lazy morning coffee, playing board games late into the night, or simply unwinding after a day of skiing. David, the host, was exceptional—always quick to respond and even went out of his way to provide extra kitchenware to enhance our cooking experience. His hospitality truly stood out. If you’re looking for a place that combines thoughtful design, true hospitality, and a cozy atmosphere, look no further. Highly recommend!

Ski Vaction

We had a group of 16 people, 8 adults and 8 children with plenty of room to move around and enjoy the living spaces. It was very clean and everything worked great. We skied at Okemo which was a 15-17 minute car ride. After a long day of skiing we sat next to the fireplace (he supplied plenty of firewood) and watched the NFL football playoff games. I highly recommend this house for a ski trip.
