Relax and enjoy this recently remodeled 3 bedroom, 2 bath home located on Lake Sebring. When you arrive, you will find a complimentary bottle of wine along with coffee, tea and hot cocoa for you to enjoy during you stay. The open floor plan includes the large foyer, eat in kitchen, sitting area, 60” smart TV/DVD and dining room that will seat 8 people comfortably. The kitchen has all the luxuries of home; granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, double door refrigerator with dual ice makers and freezer on the bottom, 5 burner self-cleaning convection range, convection microwave, 3 rack dishwasher and 3/4 hp garbage disposal. The family room/Den is furnished with a leather recliner sofa, electric fireplace and a 70" smart TV and DVD. Each bedroom has it's own 40" or 50" smart TV and DVD, pillow top matrices with adjustable base and large closets. The home has central air and heat, a home security system, wall safe and a GT3000 whole house air purifier. The large back porch is the perfect place to enjoy your morning coffee, afternoon iced tea or just watch a spectacular evening sunset. This home has huge front and back yards for outdoor activities/play and a wood burning fire pit ready for you to enjoy a bonfire or to roast marshmallows and hot dogs. You can fish from the 125' dock or there are 2 kayaks and life jackets you may use during your stay. There are also 4 -10 speed bikes and helmets available for use if you are in to exercise or just a leisurely ride around the quiet neighborhood. There is a barbecue grill in the carport that you may use if you want to try your hand at grilling. You are less than 2 miles from Publix, Winn Dixie, Walmart and Aldi. National and local restaurants and shopping are less than a 5-mile drive in both directions. This is an ideal location to enjoy your free time away or to visit family.

Load and start the dishwasher

Gather used towels and store extra beds

Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish

Turn off the lights, lock the doors and return the keys

Please put all used/dirty towels in large bathroom shower. Leave linens on beds and beds unmade. Our housekeeping service will take care of them for you.

Collect trash from bedrooms, baths & kitchen. Dispose of in blue container outside. Put all dirty dishes except sharp knives & wood cutting board in dishwasher and start. Garbage Day is Wednesday.

Be Sure to turn off all lights and fans. Lock all doors and set the alarm. Return door keys to their original location.

Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.

Lakefront retreat

Wonderful place

We stayed a week in Feb 2022 (had to get away from the northern weather for a bit). The house and property are clean and set up wonderfully. A very welcome atmosphere. Loved the house, loved the dock (think morning coffee and evening glass of wine). Central Florida offers a variety of things to do. A couple of our favorites were the hiking through the Highlands Hammock park, and the gator airboat ride at Lake Okeechobee. This listing certainly gets my recommendation.

Lovely lake home

Great stay with friends. Very clean and well kept. Open garage was a surprise to us as we weren’t sure we were at the right house. Exterior and interior garage lights should be operational to make night arrival better. Really needs a 4th bed. TV/internet/Wi-Fi was confusing in all rooms but finally got it figured out. Enjoyed our stay very much after we got it figured out. Would come back and would recommend to others. Thank you

Multi-generational stay

We wanted to visit family in the area but also have our own space. There were 5 adults: two couples me & my hubby ages 57/58 & 76/81 and an elderly 85 year old. Only one bed was low enough for the three older folks (the king). After playing Goldilocks and bed swapping, we ended up in the Queen and it was very comfy (nice mattress). The king was awesome but the other couple needed it. The full bed was a beautiful antique but way too high for old people. It would require steps with a railing to be safe. It seemed too small for two people, but maybe for one person who wouldn’t mind jumping into it (or a tall person) it might work.

It saddens me to read your negative comments especially after the nice things you had to say about our home to our face. When traveling with older folks with limited mobility one of your first questions should have been about the height of the beds. Two of our beds are standard height. Only the wrought iron bed is slightly elevated. When you informed me that the double bed was too high for your mother in law I told you that there was a 24 inch high inflatable Aerobed that could be used instead of the double bed. It is the perfect height for being able to sit up and put your feet on the floor. Maybe if she had tried it Goldilocks may have found the perfect bed.

My husband and I were both raised in Highlands County. We both are retired school teachers. My husband taught History and Law at Sebring High School and I taught Culinary Art and the Cooperative Diversified Education/ On the Job Training at Avon Park and Sebring High Schools. Together we have renovated 4 homes over the past 10 years.
We love to travel and see new places and learn about the history of each destination.

Why they chose this property

My husband and I have been married for 45 years. We have one son and 3 grandchildren. This home was where my husband grew up. All 3 of us have many fond memories of the times we spent here over the past 5 decades. We want to share some of these memories with you by opening our home to visit and enjoy the peace and relaxing atmosphere of this quiet neighborhood and lake, away from the noise of passing traffic.

What makes this property unique

This home has something for everyone. If you like being inside there are TVs in most rooms where you can enjoy music, movies and TV programs. The electric fireplace in the family room/den allows you to enjoy the ambiance with or without heat. The 35' covered back porch is the perfect spot to watch the kids or young at heart play in the back yard or just enjoy your morning coffee or watch the sunset in the evenings. The 125' dock is a great place to fish. There is a fish feeder on the end of the dock that automatically feeds the fish.
