Large cozy log cabin in Wisconsin, Close to miles of ATV/ UTV trails

This beautiful updated 3600 sq ft log home nestled in the north woods of Wisconsin on the Knapp river and only 1.5 hours from the Twin Cities. This area is known for its towering white pines and people like former President Calvin Coolidge even stayed in the old lodge just down the driveway. Three large bedrooms and a bunk room in the basement allow for a large group to stay and enjoy each others company without tripping over each other. The Kitchen is stocked with everything you'd need to make a great meal or do a little baking. If that isn't your style, just snuggle up to the large gas fireplace in the living room and read a book or take a nap. This cabin is very spacious and flows very well. Large T.V room/ game room in the basement. Bring your "A" game and challenge your family or friends to a game of table shuffleboard, darts or "A hole" a wisconsin favorite along with many other board games and puzzles to choose from. The Knapp river runs thru the property and sitting down by there is a great place to take a nap listening to the water flowing over the rocks, keep an eye out for trout in the river or the deer that come down to get a drink on a warm day. Great place to have family and friends to get away and enjoy a campfire in the north woods over looking the river . Bring your snowmobiles /side by side (wheelers) and enjoy 100's of miles of trails right out your door. Lots of lakes, restaurants, winery's, parks, trails and other attractions in the area. Do yourself a favor and get away to the great outdoors of Wisconsin!
JFI ...We also do a country Christmas theme every year from the weekend after Thanksgiving till the end of January. Bring the family and presents and Stay in by the fire or go out and play in the snow..we take care of all the Christmas decorating.

This is a beautiful home, very clean. There was nothing lacking. The beds and linens were very comfortable. It was a little hard to find but that was because the street signs were absent or confusing. It would be fun to come back and use the lower level activities with my family.Thank you Lance for your hospitality.

Hiking the dice Age Trail

We are a group of women hiking the Ice Age Trail. The location of this cabin made it possible for us to be in close proximity of the trails. After hiking it was nice to come back to this cabin and relax.

Amazing Cabin Vibes!

Beautiful cabin in the woods! Was perfect for my bachelorette weekend! Very warm and cozy, lots of games and shuffleboard! The bathrooms are all very nice, as well as the bedrooms. The beds were very comfy, we all liked those! Cute cookware, and plenty of kitchen items/utensils! Plenty of cleaning supplies/garbage bags. Had issues finding the place, but once you're there it was excellent!

This home is beautiful and well laid out. Great views of God’s country. Plenty of space for our group of 10 women for our annual girl’s weekend. 3 bathrooms were very welcome! The second morning we were there, the smoke detector battery was chirping. Owner was notified and within 20 minutes, someone was there to fix it. Overall, the experience in this home was amazing. There are a few things that we want to note but please know that NONE of these things would keep us from returning in the future.The homeowner did advise us prior to our arrival that the railings around the deck are unsafe - we found that to be true and needed to cautious. Also, the green egg grill was not usable and not removed or replaced. It would be nice to have an additional refrigerator and cupboard space for our food/snacks, and some folding chairs that could be used around the kitchen table when needed.We did discover that one of the beds sheets had not been changed but we assumed that a past renter made the bed, and cleaner wasn’t aware it needed to be changed. On the morning of leaving, there were mouse droppings in the kitchen. Although a normal thing in the fall, still not something we want to see. Again - none of these things would keep us from returning in the future.

Amazing place to gather

The cabin gives the feeling of being very remote and secluded, but is not far from stores restaurants, etc. Kitchen was very well stocked. Had everything you need.

Great northern WI getaway

A perfect home with plenty of a space for our group of 11 (9 adults 2 kids). The bedrooms were all a good size and had comfortable mattresses. The 3.5 bathrooms were perfect. Plenty of towels and amenities. The home is clean and updated with lots of places to gather. Highly recommended!!

Winter wonderland resort

This place was AMAZING !! Super clean. Big. Beautiful. A group of girls were out in the area to snowshoe the ice age trail. Perfect place to unwind and relax after a day out in nature. Beds were super comfortable!! We loved this place and would definitely go back !

Family Wedding

We had a family wedding in the area and gathered 3 couples with a few kids comfortably here. House was stocked with anything you'd need. We made a big breakfast and relaxed with morning coffee. Stayed indoors due to a busy mosquito season but enjoyed games and drinks both nights. Loved the big windows! Beds were comfortable and we all slept great. Owner was easy to communicate with.

Absolutely beautiful!

Wow! Very elegant & quite dreamy! We rented Black Bear Lodge for a private graduation / birthday celebration for our youngest son & everyone had a truly marvelous time! The open concept allowed everyone to fit comfortably together & the kitchen was pure joy to cook in! Everyone slept great on the super-comfy beds & I (Mom) spent some much needed time in the jetted tub during our stay... truly blissful!! So peaceful & tranquil here, it was a joy to be nestled in the forest. Our grown kids joined us too & it was wonderful! We highly recommend Black Bear Lodge & look forward to making this an annual visit!

Absolute beautiful Solitude

First of all, this property is incredible. The pictures don’t do the place justice. It can be tricky getting to so follow those instructions that Lance provides! We watched movies, sat and had coffee on the porch, walked to the creek, had a fire, stayed up late, slept in, watched the sunrise, played board games, danced, had a BBQ, made breakfast on the flat top, played water games. It was the perfect getaway vacation for our family-we thank you for opening your home to us. Hope to be back again next year.

Gals Getaway

My friends and I hosted a weekend getaway/relaxed celebration for my best friend and bride-to-be in July at the cabin. It was perfect for all 7 of us! There was enough sleeping room to fit all of us very, very comfortably. We appreciated the abundance of restrooms, too. The cabin is very secluded, much more so than I would have imagined. This made early mornings sitting out on the deck incredibly peaceful. We also saw a lot of wildlife--including a bear out on a trek down the road (luckily it saw us and ran)! It's a true little getaway into nature with all the modern necessities and comforts one may need. I liked, and you may also appreciate, how large the house is and all the sitting room and seats throughout the cabin both inside and outside, the driveway alarm that alerts arrivals, and how tucked away and secluded the place is. The only downfall that some might not like is that you do have to trek a ways around on either side to the back of the cabin to get to the firepit and cannot access that from the deck (it is right below the back deck, though, as seen in the pictures). There are a lot of fun things to do nearby if you're willing to drive. We even managed to find a lake in a nearby town to go swimming thanks to a friendly local! The host is also super responsive including working with one of our guests to get a left behind item back to her. I would love to come back to this cabin again!

2023 week long snowmobile trip

This was our first experience snowmobiling in North West Wi. Usually we stay some where in the UP. but this year opted for something new and different. We have always club tripped the central snow belt all the way over to the North East. If you are looking for an amazing place to ride with breathless views around every corner this is your place. The hospitality in this area is second to none we are a very avid group of riders so the fact that there are few taverns along the way reduces the amount of traffic as compared to the snow belt. As far as the facility is concerned there is nothing left at the table the house is very well equipped to easily accommodate 11 adults. The owners see to it that this will be a place that feels like home. We always eat breakfast and dinner out of the house and there is a fully supplied kitchen two grills and a gas griddle to fulfill all of your cooking needs. The fireplace is an amazing place to just sit in piece recapping your day and planning your next days adventures the lack of a t.v. on this floor actually adds to the experience opening up the desire to enjoy each others company without distraction or to sit back and enjoy a good book! We went for a walk and met a neighbor who was able to share some neat insight on the bordering property while welcoming us to the neighborhood by sharing some of his favorite places to stop.

This cabin was beautiful! The views were beautiful. The rooms were spacious and plenty of bathrooms (cause 4 adult males IYKYK). The rooms were spaced out enough where we didn't feel like we were on top of eachother. Nice common & game rooms We played darts and shuffle board for hours! Kitchen was well equipped to feed 8 people. We weren't required to do a lot for clean-up. This was a birthday getaway for our closest friends and the cabin just made it perfect. Already planning another trip. This was a weekend trip so we didn't have alot of time to explore but there seems like there was a lot of outdoors to take advantage of. Lance was was receptive and quick to respond. It was a smooth weekend. The only negative was that there were some soft spots on the deck and the railing was a bit precarious but sounds like it was to be addressed soon. *the melaleuca cleaners were just an added bonus to the trip.

This house is beautiful! Inside was as shown and very clean. The beds are all very comfortable. Spent 3 nights for our annual sister weekend. We got lost trying to find the house but the owner was very helpful and easy to reach to assist us. Once there, we enjoyed the quiet and seclusion.

Check in was easy! Home is beautiful and well stocked. The grills were dangerous and in bad shape. Owner did warn us. Unfortunately, the owner had mislabeled the set-up of the home. There is only 2 king beds… not 3. There is 3 queen beds and one futon. We were disappointed in that as we specifically picked this home by the bedroom setup. Mosquitoes were horrible! Unable to enjoy the beautiful scenery… that’s no one’s fault! If looking for sxs trails… I would recommend staying closer to Danbury.
