The house was a great place to stay for a large group, it was extremely close to Gore mountain. House was very clean and well kept. We had about a foot of snow over night, driveway was plowed early that morning so we could still get to the mountain when they opened.
My family of 5 (plus a family of 3 that joined us for a few days) stayed for a week in February 2025. It's right off a nice main road that is well-plowed. Driveway had been well cleared before we arrived. It snowed 20 inches while we stayed, and the caretaker was by twice to plow the driveway, so we could get out. The house is nothing fancy, but it was very clean and had 4 bedrooms, a kitchen (fridge, oven, toaster plates, etc.) and a table large enough to seat more than 7 adults/large teenagers. Best part was it's location to Gore Mountain and only 15 minutes from a grocery store. There was a nice amount of of pans to cook with. We ate almost all our meals there (we like to cook). Plenty of towels. Great response from VRBO manager with questions. Easy checking-in and checking-out. We had a fabulous vacation.
The property was clean and exactly as described in the listing. The surrounding area was beautiful and quiet. It made a great home base for our trip to see the total eclipse.

Winter Stay to go to Gore Mountain
Rustic old/very simple farmhouse. No frills, but simply a place to sleep, warm up after skiing. Plenty of room for a large family.
Our family spent our days skiing near by at Gore Mountain so it was wonderful to have a nice place to come back to at the end of each day. The house was comfortable and met all of our basic needs. Great location to the mountain so we will definitely be back for another stay.
We stayed in this farmhouse over the Independence Day holiday. It has so much going for it!
We loved playing on the badminton court, relaxing at the firepit and hammock, and eating and playing cards at the picnic area.
There is plenty of room for everyone to spread out in the house. Three bathrooms meant no one had to wait. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare and two dining tables makes mealtime easy.
The location is the perfect mix. Remote enough to have plenty of peace and quiet. Turkeys, deer, and owls wander around the property and you can hear the adjacent stream. It’s also just a few minutes drive to several trailheads. Slightly longer, but still close to groceries, and an easy trip to Gore, the Outlets, and other Adirondack attractions.
We’d definitely stay again!
