We had a wonderful stay at The Kos House!

The Kos House is an amazing property. The house is clean, very well appointed and is decorated beautifully. We especially enjoyed the hot tub, BBQ, fire pit and game room! Unfortunately it was extremely warm during our stay, so A/C would have been nice, but most rooms have ceiling fans and they provide additional floor fans which definitely helped! I also really appreciated Megan and Josh's attention to detail by tastefully incorporating The Kos House logo throughout the home. Very nice touch! The house is conveniently located near the Village at Sunriver, restaurants and the Deschutes River, which is a huge draw during the summer months. Bend is a short 15-20 minute drive which is nice too. Megan and Josh are excellent hosts! They were quick to respond to questions before and even during our stay. They made the check in/out process extremely easy and they were eager to do anything they could to ensure that we were comfortable and had everything we needed throughout our stay. I cant wait to bring my family back to The Kos House again for another memorable vacation!

We’re a family from Eugene, Oregon who grew up visiting Central Oregon and falling in love with everything this area has to offer—the mountains, the rivers, the trails, and the peaceful pine setting. For years we dreamed of having a place of our own here, and The Kos House became that dream come true.

When we designed and set up this home, our goal was to create the kind of retreat we’d want to stay in ourselves: cozy, comfortable, and full of small touches that make a trip feel special. We love skiing and snowboarding at Mt. Bachelor, floating the Deschutes River on hot summer days, biking the trails, and discovering local breweries and food spots. Hosting gives us the chance to share those experiences with others and provide a home base where guests can make their own memories.

We hope you feel the same sense of peace and fun here that we do every time we visit.

Why they chose this property

The Kos House is located just outside of Sunriver, giving us the best of both worlds: a private, peaceful setting on a full acre, yet only a few minutes from Sunriver Village and all its shops, restaurants, and activities. We chose this neighborhood because we wanted space—room for kids to play, for adults to relax, and for everyone to enjoy the quiet beauty of the pines—without giving up the convenience of being close to everything Central Oregon has to offer.

When we stay here, we love starting our mornings with coffee on the deck surrounded by trees, then heading out for adventure—whether that’s skiing Mt. Bachelor, hiking a nearby trail, or grabbing lunch and a pint at Century Commons. In the evenings, it’s easy to head into the Village for ice cream, a casual dinner, or one of the seasonal events that make Sunriver so fun.

It truly feels like a retreat, while still being right at the heart of all the adventure.

At the same time, it’s designed to be fun, comfortable, and family-friendly.

Guests of all ages love the variety of spaces to enjoy: adults can relax in the hot tub, sit by the fire pit under the stars, or play a competitive round of cornhole or ping pong in the garage. Kids light up when they see the dedicated bunk room, which is stocked with puzzles, games, and toys to keep them entertained. We also included little comforts—like a Nespresso machine for your morning coffee, fast WiFi for staying connected, and cozy spots to curl up after a day outdoors.
