Black algae in pool, broken fridge, ticks…

We were so excited for this trip and to have an adult get away. The pictures and description of this house seemed beyond perfect. The location was exactly what we needed for boating and golfing. However, the pool was covered in black algae and floating filth. It needed drained and cleaned badly. We asked the owner and he said it had been cleaned the day before.m and the people before us “partied pretty hard”. It had ABSOLUTELY NOT been cleaned in who knows how long. We went and bought our own chemicals and cleaned it ourselves the best we could. The fridge was broken so we had to keep everything in coolers and keep going to buy ice. The owner said we couldn’t over stuff the fridge, only there was nothing in it and it was warm to the touch when we arrived. The issue was, the fridge filter was so clogged with filth and dust, it couldn’t cool. There were ticks found throughout the house and the amount of dust on the tops of the cabinets, confirmed it needs a deep clean. It advertises a gym, that you can’t access unless you pay more to use it. This was not in the property description. The house itself is beautiful and has potential but needs a deep clean and bug bombing, the pool, fridge filter (replace or cleaned thoroughly) dust throughout the house and baseboards…The owner needs to take accountability for these items and be considerate of people’s vacation time and money.

Overall we had a great time. The accommodations were good. Few things I would suggest changing. AC is not to go below 72 however we spent most of the days rolling it back down to 72 after it changes itself throughout the day to 78+. It was excessive heat during the week so the house was warm most of the time. Probably not typical - just the crazy heat made the difference. Few items broken and dinged upon arrival- didn’t hinder our stay. Dryer didn’t work but owner/manager came through for us and made accomodations to remedy the situation. All in all- great time!

Thank you for the review. Dryer has been replaced and all items fixed since this review including the new flooring throughout and also the new kitchen countertops. As for the A/C, someone probably left it in Eco mode which will change on its own. Easy fix to just manually override that setting on your end. Also please note that anyone reading this that when it is 118 degrees F outside as was the week of their stay that a house anywhere in the low to mid 70's is all that you are able to achieve due to the heat. Thanks again for the review.

Easy to check in and out. A/C might need an adjustment on the air flow on the 2nd floor. Clothes dryer wouldn’t dry so we hung our towels outside.

Lake Havasu Oasis

This property was perfect for our annual Lake Havasu trip. Plenty of parking for your toys, large backyard with plenty of shade, and clean spacious interior.
