Amazing place to stay!

This was the perfect place to stay with my family of four. Great location. Very nice and quiet resort. Great condo with views of ocean. The condo was very clean and well stocked. Would stay here again in a heartbeat and would recommend to family/ friends.

Perfect stay for relaxation and appreciation of the area

The property is approx 1 mile, in each direction, from "busy" resort type areas. Restaurants/stores/shops are easily walkable. After sunset, bring a light during your walk. Streets not 100% lit. We stayed 12 days and not once did we need to contact the owners. Everything was at our finger tips. Kitchen had all needed utensils. Coffee maker. Toaster over. Pots. Pans. Pyrex cookware. Leftover containers. I mean everything. Bathroom had starter soap, shampoo and conditioner. Washer/dryer worked no problem. Washer is loud. Just dont do laundry when you go to bed. There is NO A/C unit. Front door has a screen that locks and with the slider open flows air through, no problem. It was never hot enough during our stay (mid 70s-low 80s). July 17-29. Sleeping near the street can be tough with traffic. But it is what it is. This property is one of the only places with direct beach (real sand, not rocks or rock wall) access. Pool and spa were sparkling. A lot of places are essentially the same price range in this area. Dont skip this place. It's a gem

A wonderful experience

Turtles galore!

Such a perfect spot right on the ocean! Turtles come up every night to sleep and even sunbathe during the day. We went in January and saw whales breaching on a regular basis. Very quiet little beach but have the luxury of seeing everything from your balcony. Only downside is it’s not super kid friendly. No noodles in the pool, no kids in the hot tub and no hanging towels anywhere on the balcony. There are a lot of rules. The waves are a bit aggressive on the beach so I wouldn’t recommend it for young kids. Otherwise, we had a blast! Our condo was perfect for what we needed it for. Super clean and had all the equipment we needed.

Right on the beach! Fantastic location

The condo had everything i needed. The bed was very comfortable. The only drawback is the street noise heard from the bedroom. But a good pair of earplugs (mighty plugs are the best!) sollved that problem.

Week in Paradise

Communication with Holley was amazing, she got back swiftly and effectively. The property is a bit older, but has a full bedroom and living room. Washer and Dryer are a definite plus, you can pack much lighter knowing you have the luxury of the utilities. The view is amazing and the ocean is a bit rough, but swimmable. Whale viewing from the lanai was also a joy. The noise from the streets is a bit louder, but usually didn't start until 7:45 am. The lack of AC is also not an issue if you utilize the windows and the draft off the ocean. This is the perfect spot for families, retirees, or young couples looking for a great place to stay, relax, and enjoy some PARADISE!

A few suggestions

I had a wonderful overall experience. The condo view was excellent and I loved the property. The condo itself is in serious need of some updates. The appliances were totally fine but the furniture needs some help. Although I spent little time indoors the couch and chairs were not comfortable especially when entertaining. The chairs on the lanai were just gross. Covering the cushions with hand towels is not sufficient. A coat of fresh paint would go a long way to brightening up the place. Again my overall experience was excellent and I would definitely return to this property but I would probably not rent this particular unit.

Fantastic Condo on The Ocean!

We love staying at this property! Maui is one of our favorite places in the world and the location of this condo on Maui could not be better. This is our fourth time on Maui and second time staying at this condo and, at this point, we would not stay anywhere else on the island! We use vrbo frequently for our trips and the owners of this condo are truly exceptional. They are absolutely wonderful to work with and offer a generous discount for return customers. The condo balcony overlooks the ocean, you have your own private beach and a pool and hot tub right in front of the ocean, and all of this is without the crowds of Kaanapaali and other area beaches. Sea turtles regularly come on to this beach to hang out and rest for hours which is so cool. You are close to grocery stores, many great larger beaches such as Kapalua Bay and D.T. Fleming Beach, with many good restaurants nearby. We highly recommend happy hour on the patio at Merriman’s restaurant on Kapalua beach, Hula Grill on Kaanapaali Beach, Kimo’s in Lahaina, and The Fish Market’s macadamia nut rubbed mahi mahi from with pineapple salsa from the Farmer’s Market that you can cook yourself at the condo and eat with the spectacular view from your balcony! If you drive 15 minutes or so north past Kapalua and the Ritz Carlton and you are on the West Maui Scenic Loop Road which has absolutely spectacular views, is away from tourist spots, and like a different island with its unspoiled beauty. The road is very narrow and down to one lane in spots, but if you take your time and yield to other drivers, you will be fine and I highly recommend doing the whole loop. You will see a beautiful blowhole at Mile Marker 39, see more of where the real Hawaiians live, get the best banana bread ever at Julia’s road stand, can hike to waterfalls at Mile Marker 8 or so and do stop at Karen Lei’s charming art gallery for beautiful and authentic souvenirs! In my opinion, this rivals the road to Hana with much less traffic. As far as the condo itself, it is always immaculately clean when we arrive. The master suite has a very comfortable king size bed with plenty of closet and dresser space to store your clothes. The pullout couch in the living room works well for two people and the kitchen has all that you need. We eat most of our meals on the table on the balcony as the view is better than just about any restaurant you can find. Mahalo Kathie and Don and we hope and plan to be back soon and often!

Below average condo

14 day stay. Check in Dec18. Contacted by Owner Don Dec18 "... Just to let you know, the guest prior to you could not get the washing machine to work properly. So, I have somebody who is going to come in and check on it this week. In the meantime, if you need to do a load of wash let me know. I can try to arrange for my housekeeper to do it possibly. Sorry for any inconvenience." Repairman looked at Dec20 - said needed new circuit board. I contacted owner Dec21 about possible ETA for repair which he replied "No, not yet. Its Hawaii......things are done at a different pace. As soon as I know, I will let you know. If you need to do a load of wash, contact the on-site manger Larry. I am sure he can arrange something." This was last time I heard from Don (checked out Dec31). Larry the Property Mgr allowed us to use the washer of a tenant out of town, which we had to use a COSTCO box for a laundry basket to carry clothes to/from condo in other building. We pack very light since we paid for and expect a working washer so we had to use the other washer many times - very inconvenient. Sears parts direct website listed washer circuit board and many other parts in inventory and could arrive in 2 days to address / zip code - warehouse probably in Oahu ? Maybe incorrect part too, but looked like huge inventory. The main disappointing issue is the lack of concern and communication from the owner. As far as cleanliness goes, check out my yelp and google reviews soon, which I will post pictures of a very moldy shower and sink and shag carpet (stayed at 4 diff condos in the complex and this is only 1 with old, shag carpet throughout the unit - just wear white socks and see what happens.) Always wash the bedding very first day, which could not be done and when got access to the other condo washer finally stripped the bedding and got a nice surprise w the mattress pad - it was thrown in the closet the rest of the trip since too big to wash in smaller washers - BIOHAZARD !!! This is one of the cheapest units in the complex, which the quality reflects the price. Everything else was great, which was expected from this complex.

Sunset Views

We arrived in Maui about 1pm, stopped at Costco to get groceries, and ended up at the property about 4pm. The place was easy to find and well situated in the complex on the 2nd floor next to the elevator. We liked drinking our morning coffees on the balcony. It was perfect to have taller chairs on the balcony to watch the sunset and waves each day. Each unit is provided a parking pass and key to get to the pool and beach area. The complex has a small private beach, and turtles would rest on the beach each day. Groceries and souvenirs are expensive in the area, so we went back to Costco and Target near the airport to purchase everything we needed. On one of the days, we took a one-hour ferry to Lanai to see the town and cat sanctuary. We chose this property so that we could leave the screen door open and listen to the waves all day. We cooked most of the time; the owners had stocked the place well. It was convenient to have a washer and dryer. Our stay was perfect. Thank you.

Slice of Heaven

We thoroughly enjoyed our 10 night stay. Clark and Holley are incredible hosts. From the moment we booked they graced us with their spirit of aloha. The condo is well appointed and clean The sunsets from the lanai are unbeatable. The grounds are well kept and the pool was always the perfect temp. Lots of turtles came to visit on the beach. The snorkeling off the beach was fantastic. This spot is a slice of heaven!!!

A Paradise Home Away From Home

What a wonderful stay we had at Holley and Clark’s condo unit at Hale Mahina. The condo offered all the comforts of home. The kitchen and bathroom were well stocked. The décor and furnishings were comfortable and some are very unique. The palm tree styled table and chair set was great for enjoying meals right off the kitchen. The lanai also offered a great table set with tall chairs to enjoy the ocean view and watch the many whales and dolphins through the binoculars that were in the condo. We were even lucky enough to watch a Monk Seal arrive to the beach! The sandy beach felt very private and was great for snorkeling with turtles and to play in the surf. The condo even had two boogie-boards to use. The condo featured wonderful laminate floors in the kitchen and living areas with had a fairly recent kitchen upgrade. Small appliances like a blender, toaster oven and drip coffee maker were a nice asset. The resort’s amenities such as the swimming pool, hot tub, barbeque area, lawn and gardens were all well maintained and inviting. Holley was quick to respond to our messages from the moment we made our booking through VRBO, so communication was always top-rate and welcoming. We would look forward to returning to Holley and Clark’s condo without hesitation. Mahalo!

Great Condo Fantastic Location!

This property was great, perfect amenities, fantastic location, with picturesque balcony/beach. Would definitely stay again! We only wished the unit had a decent vacuum — just to keep the floors tidy from sand. Highly recommend nonetheless! 10 out of 10.

Beautiful suite and location!

My wife and I (in our sixties) absolutely loved this suite at the Hale Mahina. It is beautifully updated and immaculately clean. It is on the second floor in the "A" building. The lanai is very private and the view is breathtaking...so close to the ocean with it's own little beach! The suite had everything you would need and more. Holley, the owner, was a pleasure to work with...very easy process to book and reserve, and responded right away to any questions. Will definitely stay here again!

Stayed in the area for a wedding. Beautiful unit and grounds with views of the ocean from our lanai. Fun walks across the street at the beaches, and close to so many beautiful beaches to explore! Would stay again in a heartbeat!

Very beautiful condo in Maui

Stayed at Hale Mahina beach resort in Maui. The unit was wonderful, updated, clean and the tropical breeze was amazing. Great views from private balcony. Unit was well furnished and stocked with basic essentials. Loved the added beach blankets, snorkeling gear, even had golf clubs! Great neighborhood. Would stay again

Home-away-from-home in PARADISE!

The condo is gorgeous, with tasteful Hawaiian accents throughout. The ocean is right out your back porch and with access to a private beach & spa area you don’t even need to drive to experience the relaxation of Maui. Turtles pull into the beach every evening to share in the relaxing vibe, and morning snorkeling can reveal even more hidden beauty only a few quick paddles from the shore. Tile & beautiful wood flooring make for instant relief on beach-burned feet and sun drenched skin and a clever floor plan combined with well placed fans ensure a breezy respite even the hottest summer days/nights. Washer and dryer in unit as well as a gorgeous kitchen make this little slice of paradise feel like home and honestly, we never wanted to leave!

We are a retired couple from Salt Lake City, Utah. Clark is a retired social work and Holley is a certified ski instructor at Alta. We enjoy mountain biking, rock climbing, camping, road biking and golfing. We never thought we would become ocean lovers.

We have stayed at this complex for 14 weeks over the past 3 years. Hale Mahina was love at first night! We feel very lucky we had the opportunity to purchase this unit in January.
We are pleased that we can share our piece of paradise with you.

What makes this property unique

This condo is unique.... seriously. Why? Because the ocean is less than stone's throw from our lanai. You look down on a beautiful expanse of lawn, beach and crashing waves. Not to mention turtles sleeping on the beach and whales. Great snorkeling is extremely close buy. The best part is our little beach is not accessible to the public. Many of the people hanging on the beach live here year round. It is a super friendly community that truly practices the spirit of Aloha! Come and see for yourself.
