About this property
Morrill Mansion | 2 | Self Check In | Parking
Welcome to The Morrill Mansion Inn! This 1800's era townhouse has been meticulously restored to its original Italianate elegance. Formerly the Morrill Mansion Bed & Breakfast, we recently dropped the breakfast to serve Airbnb & VRBO guests near and far as a boutique hotel.
Each room has a private ensuite bath, queen sized bed, smart TV (no cable but YouTube TV account), white noise machine, a reading chair (or couch depending on the room), mini fridge, & one parking spot for *compact cars* only.
The Space: This historic home was built in the early 1800s for one of the founders of the B&M Factory (the M stands for Morrill). Up until 2021, the B&M factory had been exclusively making B&M beans and their infamous smoke stack was a staple in the Portland Skyline. What started as a single family home, the Morrill Mansion saw many other uses before morphing into a bed and breakfast in the 1990s, and recently dropped the breakfast to serve Airbnb guests near and far. Architectural details that make the home unique have been restored and modern amenities have been added to make your stay in Portland comfortable.
With just eight guest rooms, our inn offers a peaceful stay satisfying social guests or those seeking solace. Each private room, with private ensuite bath, is furnished with a queen sized bed, television (not your traditional cable, we have a smart TV with a YouTube TV account which offers live channels), white noise machine, a reading chair (or couch depending on the room), and a mini fridge. During the summer months (May through October) each room has a window AC unit and during heating season each room has their own Rinnai heater which allows you to control your own heat.
The guest rooms share the sitting room located on the first floor which has a coffee station and luggage nook for guests who need storage before and/or after check out.
***WINTER PARKING: If we should have a snow storm, the day after the storm, we are required to remove all cars from the parking area so it can be properly cleaned out. From 9am through 3pm cars must be moved. Closest street parking with no time restrictions is about a half mile away so its a good time to explore the sites downtown or in our neighboring cities! The host will message through the Airbnb website/app the day of snow removal and any car left in the parking area will be charged a $100 fee***
Other things to note: From November through March, we will be completing light renovations between 10am and 5pm. During this time you may hear hammering, chop saws, thuds, etc.

The Inn is absolutely beautiful! Very clean. Perfect location. A lot of stuff is walking distance! Turn the heater off at night if you’re a light sleeper!
This historic building was so cute and a perfect location! Check-in/Check-out was a breeze. The room was comfortable, stylish and perfect for a weekend away! The location is very walkable to various restaurants, nightlife, etc.
We were only her 1 1/2 days but truly enjoyed our stay. The inn is very pretty and a comfortable home after a little sightseeing. Thanks for everything!
We really enjoyed our stay. The mansion has a lot of character and our room was comfortable and clean with a large bedroom area, convenient little desk, and large bathroom. The room is quiet; we didn't hear any noise from the other rooms at the inn. The parking space on the property was a great bonus.
The room was perfect! Exactly as it looked online, the host was very helpful and communicative. YouTube tv in the rooms and a strong A/C. About a mile from downtown but accessible by Uber. Would stay here again
Our room was great. Beautiful historic home with modern rooms. Hospital is close but we had no problems with noise. Nice cool AC to welcome us after a steamy summer day out and about in Portland. Would gladly stay here again.

Sadly we're staying for only one night. This is an awesome property and expertly managed.
Hopefully will return in the near future.
We were in Portland for a couple nights for a quick getaway. Morill Mansion was the ideal place! Great location, very quiet neighborhood (as Chicagoans, like, shockingly quiet), stylish room. Hosts were great communicators. I really can’t say enough good things!
The Morrill Mansion is lovely. Stunningly decorated and exceptionally clean. Loved the spacious and easy parking in back. I was in town for just the night, so it was a convenient place to stay that was comfortable, well located, and safe. I stayed in room 2 which was terrific, but just know as a light sleeper it’s on the corner of a busy road so it’s difficult to sleep from 5:30 am on. Bed was super comfy and beautiful lit room. I will definitely be back!
My girlfriend and I stayed 4 nights and it was the perfect distance from everything. Super convenient parking spot available on premises. The outside and inside of the Morrill Mansion is quite pretty and it was a joy to come home to at the end of a long day. It seems to also be in a quiet neighborhood which we loved. We slept like rocks at night on a very comfortable bed that set us up for success to wander the city. I would definitely stay again and look forward to the next visit!
This was the ideal place for my husband and I to rest our feet and minds during our visit to Portland. Large bathroom and comfortable bed greeted us when we returned from walking all over the city. There are coffee shops (Tandem was divine!) and restaurants within a few minutes walk and if you want to walk to Old Port or the East End, it is a 30-minute walk or a 5-7 minute Uber drive. We enjoyed the West End as it was quiet and beautiful. Katrina was wonderful - quickly responded to questions and appreciated her giving us the option to drop off our luggage at the Inn prior to check-in. Ben and I stayed longer than most - there is no daily cleaning unless requested - but we preferred this, we made it our home for the five days we visited. Thank you to Katrina and her family for a splendid stay!
My partner and I enjoyed staying here on our stop in Portland during our trip up the northeastern coast.
Morril Mansion was in a very convenient location if you want to be near downtown but not quite in it. We were easily able to walk/drive down while also being able to drive out of the bustle to get over to Fort Williams Park/down to Cape Elizabeth.
We were disappointed we were here during Monday/Tuesday as we found out the hard way that is essentially "the weekend" for a good portion of Maine (a tip for others traveling through).
Having off street parking was very nice; they prefer you to have a compact car as it's in a small lot behind the building but I'd say the cars parked were all standard size cars. Definitely do not expect to park a truck or SUV back there, it's going to be a bad time for you and everyone else.
Overall it was a good experience for us.
A very simple, sparse room in an old house - great for a monk.
So many little things should have made this stay better. First, the room is very small, with no shelf space to put even a cosmetics bag. Only one hook in bathroom - no place for wet towels, or to set clean clothes on. Chair advertised as "comfort" was the opposite - we are small, yet neither one of us was comfortable in it. Other chair was desk chair. No place to put coffee cup while reading. Coffee maker was down stairs in sparse kitchen - it was very big and had to make a full pot - very weak. Dishes were downstairs, as well. No ice anywhere. Walls peeling paint. Bathtub drain plug didn't work, so no bath. Jets in bathtub filled with brown mold. Shower curtain liner orange and mildewy. Carpet in hallway outside room was stained and threadbare. Would not recommend to anyone.
Beautiful mansion with separate rooms, good contact with property manager. Very nice location with restaurants very close. Would absolutely stay again.
Location was close to the hospital, which was our reason for travel due to an early surgery scheduled. We were able to check in the day before and enjoy the joys of city, the historic neighborhood and the property was clean, well-maintained and relaxing/pleasant for us all who stayed. Check out was simple, we just had to leave, so no worries regarding this on a busy morning. Thank you!
