We loved the quiet, country atmosphere, even though it was close to Hermann, the Katy trail and our wedding venue. Everything was well thought -out, down to the snacks, the "good" toilet paper, and a lovely fire waiting for us on the patio(where we spent hours relaxing). Would definitely stay again!
Perfect place for wanting to have a fun weekend with the boys or with your family. Outdoor patio with bar in my opinion is the best part of the property. Had a great time!
The house was super cute and very clean. The beds were very comfy and the hosts were amazing. They started a bonfire for us in the evening and we enjoyed their beautiful outdoor patio. We are already talking about when we are going to go back!
Everything about this place is wonderful!! It was extremely clean, well furnished and decorated, and included lots of extras. We are planning to come back next year and spend an additional night. Highly recommend this house!!
The pictures do not do this place justice. It is even better in person. The house is very nice and equipped with everything you need. Melissa (the host) always replied promptly and was available for any questions. It was hot outside but it was so beautiful we couldn't pass up drinking our morning coffee on the front porch and the back yard was shaded and just perfect. The hammock in the back was so nice my daughter fell asleep on it underneath the stars. Highly recommend this place.
We were coming to Hermann with friends to spend the weekend and this place was perfect for what we wanted. It is a short drive from Hermann and located right along the highway. The house had everything we needed. The owner met us when we arrived to answer any questions and since it was a beautiful evening she got the firepit going which our group especially liked. We cooked dinner and breakfast there and the kitchen was nicely stocked with dishes, pans, bowls and such. Since we are Chiefs fans we were so happy the hosts let us stay a little past checkout time to finish watching the game. We enjoyed everything about the place and would definitely return.
What a wonderful home. A house in the country that has been lovingly restored and decorated in the farmhouse fashion. But with all the comforts you can count on. The beds are very comfortable memory foam. Huge fluffy soft bathroom towels. Snacks and helpful suggestions for a visit to Hermann. Even baseboard lighting on the staircase for safety. And it was spotless. Very clean. My favorite time was sitting on a rocker on the front porch with a cup of coffee in the morning and gazing at the beautiful cornfield across the road. Loved all the farmhouse decor. It brought back many memories from childhood. And Melissa was so friendly and helpful.
Looking forward to staying here again.
The BEST place to stay for a friends or family trip!!
This farmhouse outside of town was so peaceful and beautiful, yet only a 10 minute drive from Hermann. It was perfect for our college girls yearly reunion. Each night the property manager had a fire in the fire pit going for us as we returned home from a day of shopping and fun. The evenings were so peaceful & the skies were beautiful outside of the town lights. It was exactly what we needed for a relaxing getaway! The home was very comfortable, beautifully decorated with a mix of traditional & modern farmhouse decor. The beds were very comfortable. There was plenty of spaces in each living area to hang out both inside and outside. We enjoyed an outdoor dinner on the patio, drinks in the outdoor bar area, & gathered around a fire in the fire pit. The host was AMAZING!! She checked in to make sure we were comfortable, offered suggestions on what to do in town, and had a fire ready to go for us when we returned home in the evening. We are already planning our next trip back!!
We had the best stay at Second Chance. The hosts were absolutely amazing and so accommodating. They made us a fire each night of our stay! The house and property are just so beautiful. We loved relaxing on the patio. It was close enough to town and had everything we wanted. Thank you for making our stay so magical!!
Stayed with a group of friends at this property. We all agreed that this was a beautiful home and property surrounding it. The house gives you the rustic farmhouse feel with some modern touches. There’s a sunroom that was absolutely amazing to hangout in with everyone and drink coffee in the morning. Tons of outdoor amenities that we didn’t get to partake in too much because of rain. Would 100% recommend staying here with friends, family, or couples trip.
We stayed 2 nights and was so happy with the beautiful property. It's so wonderful that it's hard to describe all that it offers. The beautiful home and the decor, the huge gogeous patio, the sunroom that faces the beautiful woods,, the beautiful lake. soonwhen you

It was very short….and pleasant. Due to the weather we were indoors and noticed a lack of seating around the table for eating and game-playing. There were not chairs for seven. Also, sleeping arrangements truly do not accomadate seven grown adults. These are basic needs.
Melissa is the hostess with the mostest! The lovely home was so clean and was filled with cute decorations. The property is beautiful and peaceful. It was the perfect place to relax and unwind after a day at the wineries.
Melanie's farmhouse was everything my 4 friends and I were looking for to celebrate a special birthday. The setting is beautiful and the house has it all - decor, comfort, spotlessly clean. Melanie made sure we had what we needed and answered any questions right away. We all agreed that we have to come back and would recommend the farmhouse to anyone!
This home was perfect for our stay. Close enough to get into town, far enough to enjoy the quiet farm life.
We could have sat in the front porch all day staring out into the corn fields and waving to Katy Trail passerby’s.
We enjoyed the back patio at night with a fire.
The house and the attention to detail did not go unnoticed. We loved the history and decor.
We are already talking about our next trip!
