Overall, the house was very well kept, and clean. The neighborhood was quiet and very easy to access. All of the rooms were very large and comfortable.
The house is old but modernized and very clean. Roomy layout with plenty of mingle and sleep space. Check in/out was easy. Beds are a little on the soft side which I prefer so I slept well. Bathrooms are nice with water pressure in showers that was amazing! Living room furniture could use a little comfort upgrade but overall everything was very nice and we had a wonderful stay.
Nice place in a quiet neighborhood that’s perfect for a larger family…seven bedrooms! Big kitchen with modern appliances, and a large dining room make it great for eating in or playing board games. Clean, well kept, and two minutes away from downtown Norwich. There’s also a nice paved trail down by the river where you can walk to the harbor or back the other way for waterfall views. We felt right at home during our stay. Very relaxing. We’d stay here again.
Had no issues but the ice and snow the people who did the walk way and drive way did a have job and didn't put down no salt it was very icey i fell trying to get in my car but im ok please put salt down before someone really get hurt
My daughter was getting married near Norwich and we wanted to be near the venue. We came from all over. Canada, China, Haiti, Italy and of course, the USA. Approximately 10-12 adults.
The place was decent. However, the situation with the lack of parking around the area was a nuisance.

Liked: Check-in, communication, location
The house was in the holiday museum house. The door locks and deadbolts did not work appropriately so doors were constantly opening and twice people got locked in the bathroom off the kitchen. The cleanliness was not great. One of my family members found a toenail in the middle of the floor in her room. There were old betting receipts from FanDuel. There were empty cans under the porch in the back and a screen in the driveway when we arrived, there was also trash next to the trash cans. All that being said, we had a large group and the size fit our needs. The host was very responsive when we were having trouble with the remotes delivering a new one, but we were unable to get those to work as well, including the younger members of our party not just our boomers in the group. The location was very convenient to our needs. Would the exception of one of the rooms the beds were comfortable. this bed in particular Krych and squeaked every time The person moved while trying to sleep.

This was the worst house. Very different from what is shown in photos
We stayed here for two nights and we needed a lot of rooms for a family get together. From the get-go the place does not look like the online photos at all. It was really dirty- just old and dirty. It looked like they cleaned before we came but it was just old. Cons - old kitchen and dirty - two bathrooms (which we knew) but one was on bottom level not close to bedrooms - does not look like photos online - garbage was not taken out when we arrived. - nails in wood boards that were raised and almost stepped on these at night - some beds were uncomfortable - no hot water for the whole time we were there- carpets and rugs old and dirty Pro7 bedrooms with queen beds

If you are traveling to the Norwich area with many friends and family, this 7 bedroom Victorian home will suit your needs. It is located in a very quiet residential neighborhood. The house was well stocked and the beds were unbelievably comfortable. You will need to bring coffee and filters, plastic wrap, tin foil, ziplock storage bags, and condiments. Not a place for a party or loud guests. Quiet hours are 10 pm - 7 am. You have plenty of room to spread out. We found that the drive to RI beaches was a bit longer than we had anticipated but the ambiance of this home was welcoming after our trip to RI beaches. We would stay here again. Very relaxing. Alice, the owner, was very accommodating. We will be back. Thank you for such a lovely stay.
I’m originally from Connecticut. I love traveling, meeting new people, and sharing good food and stories. Hosting is honestly one of my favorite things to do – it makes me happy to welcome guests, help them feel comfortable, and share a little bit of what I enjoy about this area.
I like to cook, explore local history, and find those small, interesting places that don’t always show up in the guidebooks. If you ever need tips about where to go, what to eat, or what to see nearby, I’m always glad to help.
Why they chose this property
This home is on a very quiet street in Norwich, Connecticut, just about one block from the river. It’s peaceful, relaxing, and feels like a small escape, but you’re still close to everything you need.
Norwich has a lot of history. It used to be one of the big manufacturing hubs in the U.S., and you can still feel that past in the old buildings and beautiful mansions around town. I chose this neighborhood because it has that classic New England charm, tree-lined streets, and a calm atmosphere that’s perfect for a getaway. I think guests who enjoy history, architecture, and quieter surroundings will really appreciate it here.
What makes this property unique
This is an old Victorian home from the early 1900s, and you can feel the history as soon as you walk in. It’s a three-floor house, and each level has its own character and little surprises.
We’ve updated the important things like plumbing, bathrooms, and everyday comforts, but kept many original details, so the house still feels authentic and classic. They don’t really build homes like this anymore – high ceilings, vintage woodwork, and a warm, lived-in feeling that you don’t get in newer places.
If you’re looking for a quiet retreat with space to spread out and a chance to stay in a true historic New England home, this property is a special find.
