About this property

Cosy Bresse - SAINT VINCENT EN BRESSE

Alizée & Matthieu (Bresse poultry breeder & cereal farmer / farm located about ten kilometers away which can be visited in his company), welcome you to an authentic traditional Bresse farm from the end of the 19th century with "old-world charm", carefully revisited as a soothing holiday retreat, nestled in the heart of a peaceful little rural hamlet, both residential & agricultural (including a small family farm adjoining the gîte), a stone's throw from a bucolic pond. A magnificent, gently rolling landscape nestled in the heart of the unspoiled Bresse countryside (largely protected as a ZNIEFF area for its rich flora and fauna), combining beautiful wild forests, cultivated fields, and hedged meadows dotted with ponds and streams, not far from the banks of the Seille and Saône rivers, both protected as Natura 2000 sites for their remarkable ecosystems (major reserves for migratory birds, rare plant species, various fish such as zander, pike, roach, and the famous wels catfish, as well as numerous animals and rich wildlife). The cottage offers excellent comfort. Spacious and bright, it boasts a warm, "country chic" style with contemporary touches, enhanced by the utterly charming atmosphere of a former country house (with original brick walls and beams preserved). It exudes charm. A warm and inviting atmosphere, soft and cozy. A large shaded terrace under a reed screen opens onto a pleasant, spacious, enclosed 3000m² garden, landscaped with trees and flowers, and featuring a lovely pétanque court. Compsosition: Detached, single-story house. Wi-Fi (fiber optic). Heat pump heating + wood pellet stove. Air conditioning. Ground floor: living room/kitchen/lounge, 3 bedrooms (one with a 160x200cm double bed / one with two 90x200cm single beds / one with a 140x190cm double bed), 2 bathrooms (showers / one with a toilet), separate toilet, laundry room. Enclosed garden (3000m²) + terrace + carport (1 space) + private parking. Mini-market 2 km. All amenities, including supermarkets, 13 km. Authentic traditional Bresse farmhouse from the late 19th century with "old-world charm" carefully restored - nestled on a pleasant enclosed garden of 3000m² with a pétanque court - located 13 km from Louhans, the famous capital of Bresse, known for its iconic medieval shopping street with "157 arcades" (one of the most remarkable of its kind in France and Europe) as well as for its highly regarded "Monday market" labeled "Site remarquable du goût" (all amenities on site including supermarkets). Small rural hamlet nestled "between Saône & Seille" (both protected in Natura 2000 Zone), in the heart of the gentle, preserved Bresse countryside of Louhans (largely classified as ZNIEFF for its remarkable ecosystems), bucolic landscaped setting, combining agriculture & nature, between vast bocage plains dotted with ponds & rivers and beautiful wild forests, not far from the first foothills of the South Burgundy massif as well as the Revermont on the Jura massif side (traversed by the renowned GRP of the "Bresse Comtoise" attached to the GR59). On the routes of the Romanesque churches circuit and various "natural" footpaths (complemented by a vast network of marked "green walks" crisscrossing the area, for hiking or mountain biking), 5 km from the "Voie Bressane" Green Way, 8 km from the "Cycloroute71" (Tour de Saône-et-Loire by bike), 12 km from the Voie Bleue along the Saône River adjacent to the "Grande Boucle de Bourgogne du Sud" Green Way, 12 km from a mountain bike trail certified "VTT FFC" (connected to a vast network of similar circuits crisscrossing the massif, including the renowned Grand Tour du Massif Sud Bourgogne), about twenty kilometers from the first vineyards of the Mâconnais, about forty kilometers from the vineyards of the Jura and the Côtes Chalonnaises, and about fifty kilometers from the prestigious, world-renowned vineyards of Côtes de Beaune & Hautes Côtes de Beaune (various wine routes to explore including the "Burgundy Wine Route" & the "Great Wines Route" which extends into the illustrious "Great Crus Route" crossing the legendary wine villages of Puligny-Montrachet, Pommard, Meursault…). In the heart of the Bresse Bourguignonne - birthplace of the famous AOC Bresse poultry - at the crossroads of the Ain & Jura departments, at the intersection of the Chalonnais, the Bresse du Jura, the Mâconnais, the Tournugeois-Clunisois (labeled "Land of Art and History") as well as the Bresse de l'Ain. 18 km from Cuisery, listed among the very exclusive 8 "Book Villages" of France, 21 km from Tournus, 25 km from the rare Truchère Nature Reserve (a remarkable protected ecosystem), 28 km from the medieval town of Romenay, 28 km from Chalon-sur-Saône (a designated "City of Art & History"), 30 km from Verdun-Ciel (a river marina nestled at the confluence of the Doubs and Saône rivers), 33 km from the medieval village of Brancion, 40 km from Lons-le-Saunier, 43 km from Saint-Gengoux-le-National, a designated "Town of Character of Burgundy-Franche-Comté", 44 km from Seurre, 51 km from Mâcon (Mâcon-Loché TGV station 57 km away), 54 km from the illustrious city Cluny Abbey & 55 km from Beaune.
