Not as expected
This is a cute little cottage that needs a lot of TLC. We were very disappointed. The inside was very clean and decorated nicely. This is not an accessible house… you can get a wheelchair in the front door from the street but that is it. We had our 90 yr old mother with us and she could not take a shower as there were no grabber bars in either bathroom. The kitchen was ill equipped.. I had one large fry pan to fix breakfast for 6 adults… no mixing bowls to make pancake batter, very few utensils etc… The refrigerator kept freezing up and I had to throw away eggs and vegetables. The washing machine was horrible.. made a very loud noise .. it shook and shimmied across the laundry room no matter what size load you did and I had to push it back .. it did not melt the pods we were given to use… I did not realize this until I dried a load and found the plastic to the pods melted to the towels. The outside needed weeding badly. .. could not get my mom outside due to the steps.. my son had to carry her.., but the kicker was there was no propane anywhere for the BBQ or the fire pit … the canisters were empty … we were so disappointed !The fire pit area was exposed to the neighbors so no privacy on a wooden deck that need attention badly… There are only window ac’s in the 2 bedrooms.. the rest of the house was stifling hot with a broken screen on the side door and no screen on the front door so we could not open up to get air in the house.
It is such a shame as we planned this family vacation for 6 months to celebrate my great grandson’s birthday. This could be a great place to rent had the owners took the time to inspect it prior to our arrival. We cut our vacation short and left a day early.
