We had a great stay! The view from the property was beautiful, and it was conveniently close to all the attractions we wanted to visit. Highly recommend!
We had a nice stay with our family of five. The accommodations fit our family easily. It was about 20 min from West Yellowstone entrance. The house was clean and spacious for our family. The kids loved the video games and regular games in the evenings.
This is a great location to so many sights and activities. The check-in/check-out procedures were easy and straightforward. This property is fully stocked with all the essentials in the kitchen and plenty of room for everyone to spread out. It was communicated prior to our stay what was NOT included, and we were prepared with our own toiletries, etc.
Great house and location. House had everything and more. We loved watching the prairie dogs in the evening. Quiet location and close enough to the park and other activities.
We spent two weeks exploring Glacier, Yellowstone and Grand Teton and were definitely spoiled by our three night stay here. We loved the layout, especially the upstairs space. The bedroom fireplaces were amazing to come back to after hiking in snow and cold for three days.
The Hillside Retreat was a perfect stay for our family during our Yellowstone vacation. The view of the mountains and lake was spectacular. The upstairs playroom and couch was ideal for relaxing after our long days of exploring. We loved this property so much, our kids want to move to Idaho!
Great access to the West Yellowstone entrance. Nice and quiet. A laundry basket and a little more heat downstairs would be nice but still very comfortable.
Quiet location with 20 minute drive to West Yellowstone NP entrance.
Beautiful rustic cabin with perfect accommodations for 2 senior couples. My only recommendation would be to add a grab bar in bathtub as the surface is very slippery.
This property was a perfect find. Not far from West Yellowstone and close enough to explore the Tetons and Jackson Hole.
It overlooks a beautiful lake (Lake Henry) and a beautiful mountain range.
Home is spacious and well designed/appointed.
Hoping to return.

Disliked: Cleanliness, amenities, property conditions & facilities, communication
We canceled the trip long time ago but why did you still want us to leave reviews
Excellent communications with the property manager in providing details in advance of our stay and communicating very promptly with an inquiry I had. The home itself was very nice. The view was looking out towards the lake and the mountains in the background. Very quiet and peaceful area. The drive into the town of West Yellowstone was far and the town itself had plenty of restaurants and shopping. We sure enjoyed our time and will definitely keep this place in mind when we return to the area.
This property was perfect for our family of five. It was very clean with plenty of amenities! The loft with the oversized cozy couch and arcade machines were a hit with our kids. The lack of AC shouldn’t be a problem if you keep the blinds shut during the day and open the windows at night. Great communication by the management company. Close to plenty of adventures. We would definitely come back.
The house was beautifully decorated and very clean. The road leading up to the house was in very bad shape and the yard was overgrown. We were unable to use the firepit because of 4' weeds all around it. Could only see it from the upper deck.
The inside of the house is very nice down to the appliances, furniture, decor, etc.
If it's going to be hot... there is no A.C. We opened windows at night and sucked cold air in to cool it down.
The bedroom downstairs didn’t have a working fireplace and they brought space heater the next day but it seemed it had been broken for a while and first night we were cold in that room and it made a very discerning burn smell. Coffee pot also was broken. Then upstairs you see a queen bed but they tell you not to use it because it’s for the owners only. Also the photos show a queen with a twin, that is what you get in the second basement room. Not sure why it says 3 queens only.
Check-in was easy! Door code was given prior to arrival! We ABSOLUTELY LOVED this house! Newly remodeled and very well done. Everything was SUPER clean and everything worked as should. Electric fireplaces surprisingly came handy! There was no A/C but you do not need it and the fireplaces in the rooms were a nice touch and we used them! The location is FANTASTIC! Henry Lake which you can see from the second floor deck was so beautiful to wake up to everyday and we drove over to the park to take a look. 10 minutes to West Yellowstone and about the same to dining and the grocery store the other direction. Mexican restaurant in Island Park(Cafe Sabor) was DELICIOUS and enjoyed the outdoor music on the river. I cant wait to come back and spend more time here and enjoy the ATV trails and more that this town has to offer that we didn't realize. Would DEFINITELY recommend this property!!
Great location. Wonderful view of mountains.Great and comfortable rooms. Jamie was great.Short drive to Yellowstone park entrance. Go early before park opens are after 1pm. Not as crowded. Our only suggestions would be:not enough Chester drawers. Had to leave several cloths in suitcases.could really need railings going up and down stairs. It was really difficult taking suitcases up the stairs.Would also suggest Grab bars inside showers for safety reasons. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it. Thank you.
Hillside Retreat is aptly named as it is literally perched on a hillside in the woods overlooking the beautiful land and Henry’s Lake with just a few neighbors nearby. The only sounds are birds, vehicles on Hwy 20, and the occasional small plane. Our first night we had an unexpected tiny guest, but we caught the mouse and brought it down the hill to release it. We didn’t see any other mice for the rest of our 6-night stay. (Being a cabin in the woods…the mouse was not a game-changer!)The wooden cabin is gorgeous, clean, well-maintained, and modern. Our family of six was quite comfortable. Showers were always hot. The kitchen fridge had filtered water to fill up our water bottles for our numerous hikes/excursions into Yellowstone. The big kitchen table seats 8. No a/c but there’s fans and if you keep the blinds closed when the afternoon sun hits the 2nd floor and you open the screened windows…it is comfortable in the house. And when the sun goes down, it gets nice and cool especially with the windows open. The road up to the cabin is somewhat paved/dirt but we had only sunny days. The cabin rental company was responsive and easy to work with…overall, we give this place 5-stars!
