The Pacific Northwest House is nestled in a little rural suburb just southeast of the city of Salem, Oregon. The location is convenient for those traveling for work or leisure to the Salem area, or the surrounding towns of Silverton, Stayton and Sublimity. A few miles from the Interstate 5 makes travel north to Portland or south to the Eugene areas a breeze. The property is surrounded by farmland, and sits on a private pond co-owned by the hosts and surrounding neighbors. This house is NOT in the city limits of Salem. You will need a vehicle to get around.
The Pacific Northwest house has been newly updated (2021) with vacationers in mind. There are three bedrooms (master: king bed, 2nd bedroom: queen bed and full size crib, 3rd bedroom: queen bed), a large living room, two full bathrooms (one in the master suite). Each bedroom has a TV, as well as the living room for your own streaming services. The full kitchen will delight chefs with an array of cooking and baking dishes and utensils - perfect for those family dinners while you vacation. Down nearer to the lake you will find a firepit available for guest use with plenty of firewood provided. The large grassy back lawn is fully fenced and perfect for playing on. Plenty of parking is available in the driveway for up to four vehicles (we are sorry, but the garage is for host's use/storage only and is kept locked). Lake access is not allowed due to liability.
There are exterior security cameras on this property (front, back facing lake, sides and doorbell) to protect guests safety and for the security of the house. All cameras are on at all times and all cameras are in plain view.

We would love to never have to enforce this policy, so kindly ask that all guests abide by the house rules agreed to upon booking. Additionally, we do have a short check-out list for guests to complete before leaving, such as gathering used/wet towels and placing them by the laundry machines, leaving the kitchen free of dirty dishes, taking trash bags out to the garbage can, etc.).

Thoughtful amenities in every room! Very comfortable for all 6 adults in our group! Would definitely stay again, especially in the summer to enjoy the back yard!
The home had absolutely everything we needed — and then some. The cozy living room was the perfect place to unwind after exploring the area, and the fully equipped kitchen meant we could cook our own meals just like we would at home. Having a washer and dryer on-site was a huge bonus, and the free WiFi kept us connected throughout our stay. The air conditioning and comfortable outdoor space made every part of the day enjoyable, whether we were inside relaxing or sitting outside taking in the beautiful pond surroundings.Honestly, this place had all the comforts of home — that warm, lived-in feeling that so many vacation rentals try to achieve but rarely do. Your attention to detail and care for your guests really shows.
The property was the perfect location to unwind after a day of wine tasting and a trip to Mt Hood.
The hosts were great! It is one of the most well stocked VRBO’s that we have stayed in.
Everything was perfect! And I am not over exaggerating. Everything was spotless, clean, everything that you need in every respect. The host were so easy to communicate with. When we am in the area again, this will be my first choice.
The property had everything we needed. A firepit, nice beds, and a relaxing atmosphere. It was the center of all the activities we ventured out to. Definitely would stay here again.
We were in Salem for a week visiting family over Thanksgiving. The house worked out perfectly for additional overnight accommodations. The house was beautifully clean. Would have been nice to have cozy blankets on the beds, and more than one hand/face towel.

We are so glad to hear the house was viewed as clean, as this is an area we hold to high standards! We are a bit puzzled by your feedback about not enough towels though, as we make a point to overstock for the number of guests staying, and saw that there were still extra unused bath and face/washcloths folded on both bathroom storage shelves after you checked out. In addition to the linens the beds are made up with, guests will find each of the bedrooms have an additional clean quilt folded on the shelf in each closet, and four fleece throw blankets in the living room just in case guests get chilled. We encourage all guests to reach out if there are questions or anything is needed during the stay and would have loved to assist in these matters!
We had the best time coming home each night and enjoying the backyard. It was absolutely perfect. Thank you so much for the beautiful home and yard. We plan to rent this every summer when we come to town.
The attention to detail of this sweet home was impressive. I enjoyed learning of the history of the home, how it became a short term rental and getting to know the family who owns it. Loved that it was in a quiet neighborhood with a backyard open to nature. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thank you!
We really enjoyed our stay here. The place was very clean and had everything we needed. Loved the personal touches made for our stay. Check-in was made easy and the owner was quick to respond to any questions. Really enjoyed the backyard and the serenity it provided. Even had the opportunity do some cherry picking! Would definitely stay here again!

Thanks for choosing our place - we appreciate how you cared for our property while staying!
From the front yard to the fire pit, it was amazing!
Kumbaya!
Neighborhood goats were an unexpected, pleasant touch.
Blackberry season was prime and local pickin's were ample.
The house is clean and well prepared for anything you could need. The communication/ directions were clear and easy to find. The location of the house is great. It’s close to shopping and also only about a 15 minute drive to wine country. I would definitely recommend this property!

We hope you had a great time with your family and thank you for leaving the house tidy!
Perfect getaway when traveling to the Mid-Willamette Valley
This house had everything we needed for a two week stay while visiting relatives in the Willamette and Santiam valleys. The house was well stocked with provisions, close to highways and shopping, yet still fairly peaceful, backing to a pond. Our hostess even decorated the house for Christmas, making it a memorable experience.
We loved staying here, it’s exactly like the pictures and description…. Even better. The property was very quiet and it was so peaceful sitting out by the water. The whole house and yard was immaculate. Loved all the personal touches, even had a recycle for bottles and cans! We will stay here again!
Great property, centrally located for exploring Pacific NE
Two middle aged couples from NC stayed at this property celebrating a 50th BD exploring the area. This is one if the cleanest and well appointed VRBOs we’ve stayed at. All the comforts of home tucked in a quiet neighborhood centrally located for touring Willamette wine region, Silver Falls State Park, and a day trip to the Pacific Coast Hwy. Hosts were easily accessible and accommodating. Back porch area is nice & neighbors goats a plus! Beds comfortable, towels and sheets hotel quality. Would definitely recommend this place!

I really wish VRBO would allow hosts to include written comments in our reviews of guests along with our star ratings. Then I could expand upon how you were really some of the most considerate and respectful guests we've ever had staying at our place! THANK YOU for your awesome communication and going above and beyond to leave it so tidy upon checking out. If you ever come back to Oregon from your side of the US, we do hope you will consider returning to stay with us again! Thank you for the outstanding review also!
A beautiful spot, immaculately clean and well cared for. A great place to sit and chat, or go for Marianberry pie at Willamette Pie Co nearby. Water way behind house revealed a Great Blue Heron and family of ducks parading back and forth. Perfect combo of beds and baths for us. Just perfect!
Very simple. Less upscale than I expected for the price. Location is almost rural. Was very chilly at night, but no blankets or quilts (just bed spreads). Had to turn up heat at night which made the air very dry. No coffee maker for fresh, brewed coffee or to make espresso (just a pod machine).

We are a bit puzzled about your review. In addition to the linens the beds are made up with, guests will find each of the bedrooms have an extra clean quilt in each closet specifically for those who wish to have additional layers on the bed. We also provide 8 throw blankets in different rooms of the house just in case guests get chilled. As you learned, the thermostat for the heating system can be turned up and down for the comfort of whoever is staying there with the press of an arrow button. We really hope listing details are read prior to booking as we have tried to make it very clear that the house is set in a little rural suburb just southeast of Salem. We further state that the house is not in the city limits of Salem. It is unfortunate that you missed those details. We encourage all guests to reach out if there are questions or anything is needed during the stay and had you done so we would have loved to assist in providing even more blankets than we already had in the closets, as well as a drip coffee maker if you didn’t enjoy the single K-cup pods provided. Thanks for booking anyway.
I've booked many short term vacation rentals over the years, but this property was exceptional...and so were the owners. It was tastefully furnished, comfortable and very appealing - we loved it!We knew from the listing that it wasn't located in the heart of Salem, yet it never took us more than a few minutes to reach anyplace we wanted to go. The owners anticipated everything - the kitchen was especially well-stocked with dishes, cookware, serving pieces, etc. The private backyard was a wonderful place to gather, with plenty of seating options under the covered patio or at the fire pit at the edge of the small lake. We enjoyed watching the geese and their half-grown brood...had our visit been a little earlier in the season, we could have seem them as goslings.Although we were a group of senior citizens, this would be great for young families...there were toys, games and even a crib stored in a closet.Communication with the owners was always very prompt - instructions were clearly conveyed. They accommodated a couple of our special requests - we were very grateful for their flexibility.I highly recommend. Book with confidence - this is a well-priced alternative to a confining, impersonal hotel.
We had a celebration of life for my mom. The owners were very accommodating and wonderful to work with. The house is very beautiful. You definitely will enjoy this beautiful home. Thank you. The Barrett-Venn Family

Tiffany is a mother of two boys who's real name is "Hey, Mom". Trying to manage the long comedy sketch (humor is simply a survival skill at this point) that is a household which includes two active kids is what fills her days. Some days that includes hiding in the closet from them after sneaking the chocolate from their Halloween baskets. Truth. This gig is not for the faint of heart.
Mike is a man on a mission. Nearing retiring age, he is counting down the days for when "all in a day's work" equates hitching up the boat and heading to a lake for a little jig pitchin' and tube flippin'. Bass fishing is in this man's blood. It's a love he's doing his best to instill in his boy's upbringing as well.
Met and married in the early 2000's, we have recently returned to our roots, so to speak, and have ditched the city life of our 20's and 30's for country living. We are in a season of parenthood in our lives, and a simple but well-rounded existence is what we crave, with room to roam for our children to grow up exploring the Mid-Willamette Valley where we live (and host).
