Had a wonderful week at the Lake! Great house, beautiful interior, everything we needed was there, plenty of space for our multi-generational family to spread out. Outside porches were amazing. Dock was a hit with our teens. Location was awesome. Overall, could not have had a better week to unwind. Easy to recommend to others looking for a taste of lake life. Check in/out was super easy & convenient. You won't be disappointed with the lake, home or location.
We enjoyed the Turtlehead Retreat home and appreciate having an opportunity to gather there with our family for the Thanksgiving holiday. There was plenty of space for multi-generational family members to socialize, prepare food, eat, and sleep. There were several gathering areas so that folks could pursue multiple activities and conversations simultaneously. The young adults appreciated separate seating areas (especially the lowest level) where they could watch football games or movies (and even set up and work through an escape room), without disturbing others. The kitchen was well-equipped, spacious, and functional. The large fridge/freezer plus 3 additional refrigerator/freezers in other areas made food storage very convenient. Large dining table. The multiple outdoor seating areas were very comfortable allowing one to enjoy beautiful views of the lake. Our family members all commented that they would love to stay again during the summer to enjoy the lakeside access. Thank you for sharing your house with our family.
The property was unreal and made our friends and family last summer hoorah weekend unbelievable. The location was perfect and the house immaculate. The house had everything you could need and more. The dock was incredible and the LilyPad a HUGE hit with the kids and adults! Thank you sooooo much!

The home itself is gorgeous; it’s thoughtfully designed, with a layout that invites both relaxation and connection. The kitchen was impressively stocked, making it easy to settle in and cook without the usual scavenger hunt for utensils. The refrigerator space is unmatched— not only a generous main fridge, but three additional refrigerators/freezers in the garage. That said, the experience wasn’t without its quirks. Most notably, the internet was completely down for the entire duration of our stay (week). This wasn’t just a minor hiccup — it disrupted work schedules. Despite repeated outreach, the property management company did not resolve the issue.Furthermore, the property was surprisingly stingy on essentials. Each guest was allotted just one bath towel and one washcloth, which felt more hostel than high-end rental. Detergents were minimal — barely enough dish soap or laundry detergent for a multi-day stay. And the toilet paper and paper towels were rationed to one roll per bathroom, despite our week-long booking. It created an unnecessary inconvenience that could easily be remedied with a bit more generosity.Cleanliness was acceptable, but not impressive. While the main surfaces were tidy, we encountered spiders and roaches, and the curtains were visibly dirty.A particularly serious challenge occurred when a pot-filling spigot broke, causing continuous water flooding. The property management team struggled to identify the location of the main water shut-off valve.

Unfortunately the location of this property doesn't have many internet options. The owner has tried a couple and Starlink is the best so far and even that isn't the best. We can only hope that something different comes to the area.
Prior to guest stays we send an email stating what is provided with each stay. That email states there is only a starter roll of toilet paper for each bathroom and 1 roll of paper towels, in addition to other household items. It also states that only one set of towels is provided per guest. This is standard for all the properties I have ever stay at and for all the properties we manage. We try to prepare guests before they arrive so they will know what to bring.
As for the hot water spigot, our plumber insisted that the spigot didn't just break. Someone had to put a fair amount of pressure on it for it to break the way that it did. The repair cost was over $1300 and we did not charge the guest for the damage.
This is an extraordinary, high end home. I suppose we cannot always anticipate and meet everyone's expectations, but we will continue to try.
