Pool was a disgusting nightmare
We saw that there were no previous reviews so this could be a slight gamble. Right when we checked in and got to the house we immediately noticed that the pool pump was not running and the sidewalls were completely covered in algae. There was no communication from the rental company or the pool vendor stating the current status of the pool whatsoever. We called the rental company help line and all they would say is “we’ll put in a ticket to have the vendor come out”. The vendor shows up the next morning while we’re there and tells us that they put an algae treatment in yesterday but the algae on the sidewalls appears to be black algae and the only way to handle it would be to completely drain the pool and acid wash it and/or resurface it, they also said they were handing the job off to another pool vendor since they didn’t sign up for this and they were sent a picture like the one in the listing (not a complete tear down cleaning job). The second vendor shows up the next morning, takes a look, and tries to also scrub the algae off before coming to the same conclusion as the first vendor, telling us that they would have to drain it and that this late in the season they wouldn’t have time and would have to hand the job off, again. The third guy shows up and checks the chlorine only to tell us that the algae keeps quickly eating it away. He also tells us that to properly take care of this that the pool needs to be drained, for the third time. We checked in on June 4 (2022) but it appears they hadn’t tried to fix or communicate this problem to us at all. We specifically booked this house for the pool because we have two younger kids, 2 and 5, that have holes in their ear drums and tubes that don’t allow them to get submerged in the sound or beach water. All they wanted to do was swim in the pool and hang on the beach during the stay but obviously we couldn’t do that at the house. We were finally able to get in touch with the property manager on Monday who said they were unaware and that they would assess a refund based on other vendors and the total time the pool was unusable. We’ve tried to call them back and left messages but have not received any further communication from them. It’s unbelievable that in a world where Resort Realty “manages” properties, no one understood or even tried to fix this problem until after June 4th. We had this booked for months but apparently no one was actually checking in on the property to make sure it would be ready
