Thanks for the review Mike . We clearly state in the about the house section that we are a ten minute walk to the beach . Playa Grande just entered an emergency drought with water and just down certain parts of the day to ration water .

On the third and last night of Preston’s stay I received a message at 10:30 at night stating that the girls he was traveling with were unhappy with the house and they were leaving . He asked for a refund for the stay . Neither VRBO or myself felt that a refund was in order . So here is an over exaggerated bad review because I did not issue a refund . Firstly before every season in December we have the house fumigated and professionally cleaned which we maintain through the season. On the night of check in Preston contacted me around 8 and said similarly that there was an infestation of bugs in the guest room on the beds . I immediately went over to see what was happening and I did not see any bugs . One of the girls he was traveling with had a photo of a pinky nail sized moth that wax on the bed . The house is located walking distance to two national parks , monkeys ant eaters porcupines parrots humming birds and yes some bugs too . The girls traveling with Preston asked me if there was a list of places in Costa Rica without bugs to which I had no response. We asked them if we could do anything for them and they asked us to change our the bedding. So around 9 at night we changed all the bedding and then I did not here from them again until the message requesting a refund . The “ bed bugs “ was a bug in a bed not an infestation I assure you if there was I would gladly issue a refund and find them a suitable alternative. I guarantee you if there is a problem like what is described as an infestation I will gladly issue you a refund . But that was not the case here . The mattress in question is tan , same as when I bought it 5 years ago . The road to the house is short 150 yards or so off the paved road . I have many neighbors who have low clearance vehicles and use it daily as do I . You can not drive on it like a paved road which is true of every other dirt road once you get off the paved road anywhere in Costa Rica . I assure anyone who is reading this that I have been renting this house for the last 9 years and I have found that you can’t make everyone happy. But I guarantee you I will go out of my way to try. And if the place is not for you that’s ok .Refunds are not out of the question especially if there is a real problem. if addressed immediately .
