About this property

Cabin 5 Waterfront Mid Lake Campground Toledo Bend

Sit back and relax in this 1 room stylish cedar cabin. Sip coffee on the covered porch and take in the beautiful sunrise from your lakefront view surrounded by Sabine National Forest. Keep an eye out for Bald Eagles, and an Osprey nest atop a 20 ft high tree stump just a quarter mile from shore on Toledo Bend Lake. Explore nearby coves from our kayaks, jump in the lake from our swimming platform, fish from our piers, or lounge by the campfire. The cabin is inside Mid Lake Campground located on Toledo Bend Lake, one of the premier bass fishing lakes in the country, and we have the best crappie fishing on the lake right below our marina just steps away.

Cabin 7 is located inside Mid Lake Campground, which was built in 1968 with the creation of Toledo Bend Lake. Mid Lake Campground has pull through RV spaces, cabins, and houses. Many of our guests have long term "camps" in the campground; some reside in the campground year-round, while others are winter snowbirds. We have an onsite boat house (call for reservation), boat ramp, and convenience store with gas (including non-ethanol). The campground is very quiet and peaceful with friendly neighbors.

There is parking available for a boat and truck and additional parking is available across the road in the field.

Mid Lake Campground and Cabin 7 is perfectly situated for a great fishing trip, a day on the lake, or total relaxation taking the amazing lake views in the clean country air. You can catch your limit of Crappie right under our boathouse, or visit the famous gator hole only 2 miles away by boat where you just might catch a trophy bass. We are 3 miles to the main lake, and 6 miles to Cypress Bend by boat. Sam Rayburn Lake is about 30 miles by car.

Fun stay!
This super clean, cute cabin is located directly across from the marina. There isn't a number on the cabin, which would have been helpful as we were not sure we were in the right place. Upon arrival, we were unsure the cabin could have all of the amenities inside since it looked very tiny on the outside. But it did! It was clean and updated just like the photos showed. It was the perfect size for our family of 4 to spend a couple days away from home. The location is not private; it is in the middle of a neighborhood with houses and permanent campers. However, the neighbors were all very kind and friendly! There are not any trails, but we rode bikes throughout the neighborhood. We fished at the marina and built campfires in the fire pit both nights. The pit does have a large grill that we used to cook on. There is a small convince store that stocks 1 or 2 of whatever you would need besides fresh produce. It was helpful for us since we forgot s'mores. Inside the cabin there is everything you need to cook a meal except for knives (there are butter knives). There was popcorn, sugar, spices, and creamer which were all very nice to have. There were more than enough towels in the bathroom. The beds were so comfortable that we looked at the brand before we left. The heater worked well, and we were snug at 73°. Overall, we loved our stay and would definitely stay again!

Great little spot.
Sure enjoyed our 2 night stay in Cabin 5. Everything we need in a cute, clean (and I’m picky) cabin. We had a little issue with the t.v. that Lisa immediately took care of. The area and lake is pretty and we were also entertained watching the neighborhood woodpecker. We will definitely be coming back.

Why they chose this property

Mid Lake Campground was created about the same time that Toledo Bend Reservoir was created in 1968. Back then, it started life as KOA. You will still see the original A-frame convenience store at the entrance to the property along with original Texaco sign at the Boathouse. Generations of families have shared a lifetime of memories and return regularly. The bluff over the lakefront overlooks what was the Palo Gaucho Bayou before the lake began to fill. The Palo Gaucho ran directly beneath our 16-slip boathouse and sits over 20 feet of water, which is why we have such amazing crappie fishing below our dock.

What makes this property unique

Mid Lake Campground and Cabin 5 is perfectly situated for a great fishing trip, a day on the lake, or total relaxation taking the amazing lake views in the clean country air. You can catch your limit of Crappie right under our boathouse, or visit the famous gator hole only 2 miles away by boat where you just might catch a trophy bass. We are 3 miles to the main lake, and 6 miles to Cypress Bend.
