Charming house. Comfortable furniture and beds. It’s not super modern, although the bathrooms and kitchen are updated and fairly well stocked. If you’re not a fan of spiders, this might not be the house for you. Cobwebs are outside because you’re in the woods. And we did have a little jumping spider make his way inside. The setting of this house is very private and quiet; there aren’t full window coverings on all the windows, but really no need because the neighbors aren’t that close. The house is nicely decorated and cozy.

Needs some refreshing and maintenance. Mattress cover dirty and stained. Linens old musty. Webs and spiders in the house. Bug spray necessary. Porch not very inviting for seating due to slippery moss debris webs. Other than that it’s quaint quiet and peaceful. Bucolic grounds and pond.

The house itself was nice and has a lot of potential. We enjoyed our stay, but there were several maintenance, cleanliness, and upkeep items to be noted.There were some dark brown/red-looking drip stains on a few of the walls, and some areas appeared to have been overlooked during cleaning. the floors along the sides of the beds were quite dirty - found because kids randomly looked for their toys that roll. We also noticed dust and spider webs underneath and around tables, chairs, &dressers, as well as a number of spiders throughout the house. There were also spider webs between some of the window glass and screens, which made it impossible to open the windows.The house had a noticeable musty/musky smell throughout our stay. A few other items could use attention as well: the right-side burners on the stove did not appear to work, and we were unable to get most of the TVs working (only one was partially usable).The driveway is unpaved and had fairly significant ruts and grooves from rain, which made it difficult to navigate. I would recommend noting in the listing that a larger truck or AWD vehicle may be necessary, particularly after wet weather.A few small conveniences would also have made the stay easier, such as additional toilet paper and paper towels, a pizza pan, and a couple of bigger baking sheets. The blackout curtains also did not completely cover the windows. Additionally, the bathroom windows have no coverings, which may be worth addressing for privacy.

So much potential here! With a little cleaning and care for visitors, this place would be a gem. Unfortunately, the pond was difficult to fish in due to the tall weeds at the edge, the bed in the master bedroom was terribly uncomfortable, loud and only a full mattress. The closets were barely functional & the drawers in each room had leftover items like a twister spinner, bags & papers. A good cleaning of the inside and a power wash of the outside would do wonders for this place. Also needs to be sprayed for bugs. The first thing we saw when we walked in was a bottle of raid by the front door. Though, it didn’t keep the spiders and roaches a way. Window coverings on all windows (especially the bathrooms) and working lights would be a nice. The TV in the master didn’t work.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. We want to gently correct a few points for future guests. We never received a single message from this guest during their week-long stay. Our contact information is provided at booking, in the check-in instructions, and in the house manual, and we respond quickly. Anything raised during the stay would have been addressed the same day. A few factual corrections: the master bedroom has a queen bed, not a full. We have since verified that the master TV powers on and functions normally. The linens shown in the photo are not ours, and the bedroom photo appears to show the guest's own belongings rather than the condition of the home. The pond is natural and does have seasonal growth along portions of the bank, and we're happy to point guests toward the clearest access points when asked. We also treat the property for pests on a regular schedule, but this is a home in the middle of the woods in Georgia and as stated in the description, you are likely to see some wildlife especially after a summer rain. We take cleanliness seriously and welcome feedback in the moment, when we can actually fix it. Future guests, please reach out any time during your stay and we'll take care of it right away.

Relaxing place to stay!

This is a great location and is a cozy, well stocked home. The home had everything we needed. The front porch and back deck are perfect spots to have coffee and enjoy the beautiful setting. We hope to stay again when in town.

Beautifully located property. While we mostly used the house as a home base from which to attend family reunion functions, we did enjoy spending some time at the pond on a pleasant agternoon and in fact catching somw big bass (of course they are still happily swimming around awaiting a next visitor). ll four of us agreed that if we were to come back to Evans in the future for another occasion, we wouold seriously consider staying here again.

Amazing cozy get away

We so enjoyed our stay at this cozy, nicely decorated cottage by a pond. It felt remote and relaxing even though it was in the city limits of Evans. The host was really great to work with and very hospitable. We really hope to rent this cottage again.
