surprisingly this lodge has been on elbow lake for a century. The location is fairly isolated and has good access to the lake. It is the type of place that beckons as a near wilderness experience. We will try to return in the future.

The lodge is very remote and required a drive of at least 16 miles on a dirt road. There was not cell service at the lodge and the exterior was in need of significant cleanup. We did not go into the lodge or see the rooms which could have been adequate inside. As two women traveling alone it was not a good fit.
This place is great. We stayed in the lodge. This was are first time ever there. Clean rooms, pet friendly, great, lake views. They have kiaks you can use. Paddle boards. You can even rent boats for fishing. Bob and his family was great. Him and his wife brought firewood down every night so we could have bonfires. We will diffently be back this time renting a cabin with private bonfire. Grill, and access to private little beach front. Really a great place to take vacations
The Woodside Suite was clean and had almost everything we needed. (No spatula)The fan/light in the bedroom still doesn't work, but there was a lamp and a fan in the closet to use. The dishwasher still isn't working and there were 3 light bulbs burnt out. It took almost a week for a response on the app.
The whole resort is kind of messy. The game room had game pieces laying all around, the beach had beach toys laying all over.
The wifi in the lodge was good. We would still stay here again if we were in the area. I would make sure we had a boat though.

Memorial Day weekend stay
I am giving the stay a 3 for a few reasons. First of all the description said restaurant on site. It's permanently closed so we had to venture off to find food because we didn't bring any. About 15 miles was the closest place. The canoes weren't available because they weren't yet registered. The dock wasnt out and they had no bottled water. The mingolf course was rundown and the wifi wasn't working.
Other than that the place had lots of games to play.. darts, Foosball, and ping-pong. It had a nice small sandy beach. Beautiful views. It had a bar and snacky food to purchase. The managers were very freindly and available. I feel it would've been better if some of the small maintance things were done before we arrived on a very busy weekend.

Great secluded location with amenities but needs updating
My family took a trip to northern MN to enjoy some hiking and beach time. Unfortunately the mosquitoes were so awful everywhere we went in the area we were forced to spend more times indoors than we wanted. Since we were indoors more there were some nice amenities such as darts, arcade basketball, etc. I was confused about the “bar” since I didn’t see any alcohol and the hours are 10-6. The room we stayed in inside the lodge was needing updates- such as a non-working dishwasher, non-working light/fan in master, and cracked and broken bathtub area. The floors need to be replaced (carpet tearing and linoleum cracked). I would have liked more communication from the owner as I had sent a message in January and didn’t get a response until April, then I messaged a couple of times in the week leading up to the trip about the check in process and ability to bring a dog along. I never got a response to these messages. Overall, there are some great amenities (kayaks, paddle boards, darts, basketball, etc) but the place could use updating.
We picked this location to be within 2 hours of all the area attractions and got the added bonus of the beautiful lake and things to do at the lodge.
We came in late and the manager stayed to greet us. Wifi was decent and everyone at the lodge was friendly.
Thanks for a wonderful stay.
Comfortable bed, shower a little hard to regulate the hot water, which was very hot. nice little kitchen. Extra blankets if you needed them. It was one cabin type unit in a bigger building with 3 other units. The bldg also had a bar and a TV as well as games like ping pong. A small store. Nice outdoor area with a beach. Their website said they had a restaurant but that is permanently closed. I didn't bring food to cook. The restaurants in the area just are nit very good. Stick to burgers. 9 am is a little too early for checking out. Bob.and his wife Alise couldn't be better hosts. Very accommodating. Enjoyed our stay.
