Charming apartment of the Senfmüller family in the heart of the old town of Monschau

Stay in a beautifully renovated monument in the heart of the old town of Monschau - an original Monschau house with the ambience of the old days: timbered, crooked walls, wooden floors and an old staircase testify to it, but of course today with modern comfort. Clemens August and Mathilde Breuer, the founders of the historic mustard mill Monschau, once lived in Haus am Holzmarkt with their 8 children. "Ömchen Mathilde" serves today as namesake for the lower apartment, after her daughter Guste Amalia, "Tant Jusschen", the upper apartment is named. Here in the cellar the first mustard was made, at the beginning still with a mortar.
In this house are two apartments, each with about 72 square meters emerged, ideal for 2-4 people. In the living rooms there is also a comfortable sofa bed, TV and Wi-Fi. In the kitchen you will find a dishwasher and a microwave, as well as a coffee machine and a kettle.
Monschau and surroundings are beautiful. Here you will find everything your heart desires: history, culture, nature, sports and of course enjoyment - not least in our historic mustard mill.

Very nice house in centre of Monschau

We loved this apartment in Monschau. The ceilings are a bit low, and the stairs are steep, but if that's no problem for you (and for us it wasn't) then this is a great place to stay if you want to be right in the heart of Monschau.

Beautiful renovated apartment, modern and spacious. It is at a perfect location in Monschau. Reception is great, with the owner joining us from a convenient location to drive to the house and show us around. Communication very easy and quick. All in all would recommend!

Die Unterkunft liegt super zentral in der Altstadt von Monschau. Man kann alles fußläufig erreichen. Die Wohnung befindet sich in der ehemaligen Senfmühle, einem alten Fachwerkhaus, in dem man in jeder Ecke die Nostalgie spüren kann. Frau Breuer gibt viele hilfreiche Tipps und ist jederzeit erreichbar. Einen besonderen Pluspunkt bekommt das Sofa! Wir sagen Danke für alles :-)

Ein sehr schöne Wohnung in toller Lage. Es wurde ein sehr pragmatische Lösung für das Abstellen unserer Fahrräder gefunden. Dafür nochmal Vielen Dank!Das einzige Wermutströpfchen war, dass wir bei der Abreise den Wohnungsschlüssel wieder (bergauf) zur Senfmühle zurück bringen mussten, obwohl wir mit den Rädern in die andere Richtung weiter gefahren sind.

Sehr netter Kontakt und urgemütliche, gut ausgestattete Wohnung. Die Vermieterin ist von der Senfmühle aus mitgefahren, um uns einen Platz zum Halten zu zeigen. Auf dem Weg haben wir schon eine kleine Stadtführung erhalten. Das Haus ist sehr alt und entsprechend verwinkelt. Für die Wendeltreppe in die zweite Etage hält man sich besser fest. Die Wohnung ist sehr ursprünglich, viele Balken, schiefer Boden, knarzende Dielen, aber top saniert und modern eingerichtet mit einzelnen historischen Ziergegenständen (Ofen, Truhe). Alle Textilien waren neu und wohlriechend. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt. Ich finde oft den Geruch von Ferienwohnungen unangenehm, wenn Bettzeug und Sofakissen schon hundertmal vollgeschwitzt wurden. Das war hier gar nicht so. Alles frisch und neu. Pluspunkt: Die Bücherauswahl.

Nicht geeignet für Senioren und Personen mit eingeschränkter Mobilität

Das Bett ist nur 140 cm breit, also kein Kingsize-Bett. Auf dem harten Bett konnten wir nicht gut schlafen. Die Wohnung befindet sich im zweiten Stock, der über eine im Laufe der Jahre ausgehöhlte Treppe erreicht werden kann. Das Auto parkt einen Kilometer von der Wohnung entfernt. Beim Check-in müssen Sie die Gastgeberin mit Ihrem eigenen Auto zum Apartment mitnehmen; Die Gastgeberin ist sonntags nicht erreichbar. Darüber hinaus liegt die Wohnung wunderschön in der Altstadt von Monschau. Die Wohnung ist sauber und ordentlich.

Die Ferienwohnung in dem geschichtsträchtigen Haus ist sehr liebevoll eingerichtet und war sehr sauber. Die Vermieterin ist sehr nett. Die Lage mitten im alten Ortskern ist toll. Man kann nur nicht dort parken. Das ist aber im nahegelegenen Parkhaus möglich.

Ein Wochenende in Monchau

Die Betreuung von Frau Breuer war sehr freundlich und informativ, die Wohnung selbst ist sauber und gut ausgestattet. Sie ist zentral in der Altstadt gelegen, jedoch der angebotene PKW Parkplatz ca. 500 Meter außerhalb gelegen. Bedingt durch den tollen historischen Fachwerkbau ist der enge Treppenaufgang und die Deckenhöhe in der Wohnung zu beachten.

Sehr schöne Wohnung zum Verweilen

Mitten in der historischen Stadt eine sehr gut eingerichtete Wohnungen in einem Denkmalgeschützten Fachwerkhaus. Sehr netter Empfang von Ruth, dafür vielleicht Dank. Wohnung ist sehr gepflegt und geräumig. Alles nötige vorhanden. Parkmöglichkeiten ist gegeben. Ich werde, sollte der Weg nach Monschau führen, nicht lange zögern und werde die Wohnung nochmal buchen.

Angefangen mit der netten Begrüßung inkl. Begleitung zur Wohnung durch Frau Breuer persönlich, fanden wir eine tolle Wohnung mitten im Stadtkern vor. Die Wohnung war gut ausgestattet und absolut sauber. Für u.a. den Besuch des Weihnachtsmarktes sehr empfehlenswert. Gerne kommen wir wieder.

Fantastische Wohnung mitten im Geschehen

Wir haben die Wohnung für vier Nächte gebucht und wurden herzlich empfangen. Alles war fantastisch und die Vermieterin war unheimlich freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Wohnung ist exakt wie beschrieben und man fühlt sich sehr wohl. Alles in Allem ein perfekter Miniurlaub. Stets wieder.
