About this property

waterfront guest house, historic fishing village

We welcome you to experience this Historic Inn as your stay on the coast of Massachusetts. The Paquachuck Inn, located on the very tip of Westport Point, was built in 1827 by privateer, Issac Cory and served as a ship chandlery and general store, as well as customs house and post office. Original store cabinets, harpoons and huge whale vertebrae remind guests of those former days. The imposing three story post and beam building towers above the town dock with views of the harbor entrance, active fishing fleet, and oyster farm. Our windows open onto salt winds and the sound of the ocean.
Our Inn is a gorgeous structure with an original stone end, that features three floors with nine bedrooms and three shared bathrooms. Each bedroom has a queen bed with exception of the Annie M Petty room, which has a queen and a twin. The Thomas Paull room offers two twin beds and a comfortable library on the second floor.
On the main floor there is the main living area, originally the Cory general store, with a working fireplace and multiple seating areas. A full semi-commercial kitchen and stone floor dining area await you.
Follow the impressive slate floor out to the patio, gardens, dock and working waterfront. A quick walk out the door will take you to the neighboring oyster bar, the working harbor and a fifteen-minute walk to Horseneck Beach, voted one of the best, 'hidden gem' beaches on the South Coast by Yankee Magazine 2018.
Exit through the side door to the lovely glass antique greenhouse with lanterns and comfortable seating.

Our location on Westport Point is THE spot to launch into adventure for a perfect Farm Coast experience. Fishing charters, Artist Studio Tours, Art Instruction, Boat Rentals, Farm Tours, a local oyster bar, craft brewery and an award-winning local winery are just the beginning of what the Farm Coast has to offer!

I am retired from a career as an artist in service of science, and am a painter. My working career found me at sea and on the working waterfront much of the time, and the old Cory Store, ( now Paquachuck Inn) has become my partner in life since we met because of its ship-like peace.

Why they chose this property

This four story, 200 year old building overlooks an active fishing fleet, its exposed post and beam construction is pegged and salted like a ship. Original cabinetry speak of the long and storied history of the Maritime industry, and the salt air is clean and often wild. The view from my kitchen window is worth a million dollars to me, and the wrap around porch is truly a window on main street. It may not be for everybody but it is quintessential New England waterfront.

What makes this property unique

Historic building, Working Waterfront, Peaceful, Tranquil, Relaxing
Outdoor Patio and Lawns to the water.
Quaint New England Village
