Beautiful house and great location. We loved our stay at the house. We will definitely come back again. It's in between Asheville and Hendersonville which are our 2 favorite places. Close to the forest so you can go hiking.
Very clean and well stocked home. We had everything we needed for a extended family vacation. The owners were wonderful communicators and even offered for us to check in early and stay late. Plenty of big fluffy towels, comfortable beds, and well equipped kitchen and coffee bar. We highly recommended this property.
We had a wonderful weekend stay. From the moment we arrived, the hosts went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The house was perfect. It was a great place to relax. Highly recommend.
These accommodations are perfect for a family and the location was convenient to everywhere we planned to travel. It was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay.
We loved our stay here! It was a great location and a comfortable house for 3 young kids and 4 adults. We would definitely go back and bring a dog next time!
More than enough room for family of 5 with all the comforts of home. Great location with short drive to anything you'd want to experience around Asheville. Would stay again.
Had a wonderful time in this beautiful home. Our dogs had a nice fenced in yard and the house had everything that you could want and more.
Easy drive to the grocery store, dog park, Bold Rock Cidery.
Highly recommend!

I felt the house we stayed like home away home. Thoughtful people; nice quality of kitchen equipment, space, coffee bar and cooking spices. Many sitting areas. The house was clean and comfortable beds. We definitely revisit it.
Enjoyed our overall stay. We were less then 10 mins awa from every place we needed or wanted to go.
Home was very clean, comfortable and nicely laid out.. and thank gosh for that, as the weather was horrible for most of our time there. Loved seeing the you deer playing in the field behind the home when having our coffees.
Would stay there again for sure if traveling in that area.
We absolutely loved this home! There has been a great deal of time and thought put into making this a very comfortable place to stay. Very pet friendly! Comfortable furniture and a great master space upstairs. Close to lots of things to do and very peaceful! Would highly recommend!
The house was clean. It was hard to get warm. The first floor bedrooms had no heat source unless you kept the doors open. There weren’t adequate blankets. I contacted the owner and she brought additional blankets but they arrived too late. The refrigerator was very small. Made it difficult to store Thanksgiving food. Additionally, the freezer didn’t accommodate more than 3 ice trays. We had to buy ice. The faucet in the first floor bathtub dripped. The only way to stop it was to pull up the shower lever. Insulation around the side door was nonexistent. You could stand by it an feel the cold air pour in.
Excellent property for our purposes. Very easy access to the fenced backyard for the pets. The property is an interesting mix of old and new. The addition to an existing older cape cod style home was done very well. Placed just outside of the busy business corridors it felt like we were in the country. Five minutes to the grocery store and easy access to Asheville and Hendersonville. The owners were always responsive. We had a small change in our schedule and they accommodated it well.
The photos do not reflect the uniqueness and charm of this home. The place was situated in a quiet country environment conveniently located between Asheville and Hendersonville allowing us to partake in what they had to offer. The master bedroom and walkin shower on the second floor offered a wonderful area to retreat and relax from a day filled with outdoor activities with a wonderful mountain view. The house was clean with modern appliances throughout and an appropriately apportioned kitchen.
We would highly recommend the Mills River Retreat to anyone wanting to stay in a wonderful home away from home.
The home itself is ADORABLE. It has so much to offer/places to sleep and it easily accommodated our big party. We had 4 adults and 4 kids (6, 3, 2 & 1). It was even nice to have available high chair and pack and play for all the littles! I will say the busy street it is on and the cement floor in the living room made for some high stakes little kid play but we still LOVED this home and would book it again if we needed that much space.
Beds are comfy, home is very clean and the kitchen was well stocked with spices and SHARP KNIVES! (which in a rental is next to impossible haha).
This is a great place to stay for a weekend getaway for adults or adults with kids.
What a find this one was! Our family of five was looking for a place around the Asheville/Hendersonville area and stumbled across this home near Mills River. It was everything we were looking for and more! It has that secluded feel even though there are neighbors nearby. Every bedroom (and even the upstairs loft area) has a smart tv that really helped keep the kids entertained in the downtime. The beds were all comfortable and the way the climate control is setup works wonderfully. The sounds of nature as you sit on the front or (especially) the back porch is very relaxing. If you are looking for a place around this area, we encourage you to give this place a shot. You won't be disappointed!
My family and I are local, but stayed here for 3.5 weeks during home repairs after the hurricane. It couldn't have been a more perfect spot. The house was spotless, thoughtful and comfortable. Everything works and is easy to use . The kitchen is very well equipped and had the knives, pots, pans and tools needed for daily meals. While we were there, highs ranged from 80-37 and the house does stay comfortable. Two adults, two teen boys, one tween and two dogs and there was plenty of space. We never felt like we were on top of each other.
The location is fantastic. If you do bring dogs, it's easy to walk them from the house and it's a 5 minute drive to a large park with walking trails and dog park. Quick easy drive from nearly everything. You avoid the areas with the worst traffic and it's easy to get to. I'd highly recommend for anyone not comfortable with winding mountain roads.
In all, the house was perfect for us.
