About this property

The Red Clover is an iconic Vermont estate, tucked into a forest glade, with sweeping views of the Green Mountains and surrounding woodlands. A former Inn, remodeled to include modern comforts, minutes from Killington Resort and Pico Mountain. Amazing hiking, biking and snowshoeing out back door, with numerous restaurants, bars and activities a short drive away.

The Maggie and Gillian Suites are two separate suites that share an indoor alcove and private entrance. The Gillian Suite is a ground-floor suite with a queen bed, a sitting area with chair, and a private bathroom with shower. The Maggie Suite has a narrow staircase up to a second story with a queen bed and bathroom with shower. There is a private balcony off the Maggie Suite with a view of the backyard and mountains.

In the Main Building of our Inn (next door), You have access to a shared living room with fireplace and dining room, with fridge, microwave and Kuerig Coffee maker. The Red Clover Inn is currently not offering food and beverage service and the commercial kitchen/restaurant is closed off to guests.

It was convenient to a haunted castle in Proctor, downtown shopping in Rutland, and a gondola ride to the top of the mountain in Killington (it's also a ski resort). Venetia was extremely friendly. The room was clean, comfy, cozy, warm and quiet. But, bring a computer if you want to watch a movie ... no TV's. The main house is open 24/7 to use and they offer snacks/coffee/tea/hot chocolate. The outside is beautiful and there's a hot tub. They also start you a campfire! Very nice!

Venetia and Mark love creating beautiful spaces to create incredible memories and experiences. We love the Killington area, although we have trouble picking our favorite season. Winter is amazing. It's so beautiful to see the snow covered mountains and hit the slopes, cross country trails or back country. Hikes in winter are also amazing, whether using snow shoes or or spikes. The spring brings soft snow with the Killington season going into May, and then turning into a mountain biking heaven. As the snow melts the biking and hiking trails open and the Killington area offers some of the best in the world. Amazing rock climbing as well. During the summer, the lakes and rivers turn into incredible playgrounds, with fishing and swimming our favorite sports. And the fall brings exceptional foliage to enjoy. Tired of the outdoors, enjoy a visit to numerous quaint Vermont towns within a short drive, excellent cuisine, and fun shopping and antiquing. This place really is a four season dream come true.

Why they chose this property

The Red Clover was love at first sight. It's a beautiful property, with comfortable rooms. Everyone local we spoke with raved about their experiences and memories at the Red Clover, from weddings to romantic weekends to ski vacations. Unfortunately, the Inn closed due to Covid. We immediately saw the opportunity to open it back up as a VRBO listing, with multiple options for our guests, from single rooms to the entire estate.
