My name is Kendra and I am the owner, operator of REmix Design. Growing up, I was surrounded by artistic people and rural settings that shaped and molded me into the hands on, detail-oriented designer I have become. I grew up surrounded by the trees which inspired my love of Mother Nature and still guides me in my thoughts and life choices.
.
I took these qualities to Penn State University in 2006 to study architecture. Looking back, I am able to see just how much I learned and grew as a conceptual designer. On paper and digitally, I created buildings that mirrored the moon's orbit, ones that welcomed wildlife and birds, and structures that reflected the constellations. I crafted lifelike models of my projects using wood, moss, and chipboard. I did this all while instilling important values of functionality and practicality. I graduated with a Bachelor's of Architecture degree in 2011.
.
After graduation,I began REmix Design with small DIY furniture projects for my personal space. Having a passionate love of nature drew me to work with recycled and reused materials, while decorating sustainably. Over the course of 9 years, while working full time as a retail interior designer, the business slowly grew beyond my imagination. I added house plants, home decor, and lifestyle products to give my customers the tools to make their home environment zen and calming. I used my skills and knowledge in architecture school to start designing residential spaces for renovations, flip houses, and custom homes. In 2019, I eventually opened my own brick and mortar store in the heart of downtown Chambersburg, and made REmix my full time commitment. In early 2022, I launched an Airbnb space above the store, called REmix REtreat, that has showcased my biophilic, sustainable design abilities. REmix Design is my proudest achievement and I am ecstatic to share my work and style with my community and beyond.

With love,
Kendra
