The Rustic River Retreat on the beautiful San Bernard River is a hidden gem boasting amazing amenities, a covered boat slip, a green fishing light with tons of fish, an outdoor fire pit, and fantastic water for wakeboarding/wakesurfing, tubing or just relaxing family boat rides to the beach.
This amazing home sleeps up to10 adults and 2 children comfortably in its 4 spacious bedrooms and 2 twin over twin bunks. The kids love the bunk room equipped with their very own nightlights and charging ports giving them their own fun spaces! Close the pocket doors and let them have some fun while giving parents some adult time in the living room to enjoy the beautiful views of the San Bernard River!
We also have a wonderful outdoor space with a stone patio, a fire pit, and both gas and charcoal grills for cookouts to enjoy year-round. Not a big griller?! Just scoot on down the road to some great restaurants in Lake Jackson only 15 min. away!

WHITE towels are for bathroom use ONLY! We have plenty of beach towels for guests to use while in and out of the river.

NO eating in the beds and bunks! And absolutely no glitter or silly string! Guests may incur extra cleaning fees if these rules are not followed.

Family Crawfish Party

Beautiful house! Great location on the San Bernard River. Close to our family. We loved sitting in the backyard looking at the river. Enjoyed coffee in the morning. The property manager has everything beautiful.

April 2024 Beach & Fishing Trip

We enjoyed our stay on the San Bernard River. We were able to catch a few legal black drum even though the water was dirty due to rain and wind. This place was evenly spaced between Freeport and Sargent so we went to one Freeport beach one day and Sargent beach the other. Had fun on the beach both days. Then came back to house to relax, cook nice meals, and hang out by the fire. I don't think we turned on the TV but once or twice. Property owner was very friendly and made every effort to ensure we has a great trip.

Great weekend and family Christmas party

Had a wonderful time with the family. We had 20 of us together playing games, opening gifts, enjoying each other without the hassle and work of doing it all at home. This is a beautiful home with a great open floor plan that can accommodate crowds as well as be cozy for couples. The hosts were amazing. Communication was top notch. They knew we were doing our family Christmas and had the home decorated perfectly. Could not have asked for anything more out of our trip. Thank you Kevin & Lucinda

My husband's 40th birthday.

The property is beautifully decorated and when they say fully furnished it was.. Had a blast fishing and we were able to take brother inlaw boat out on the water. Property was very clean and relaxing we want to book another stay soon.

When we purchased this property in 2021 we fell in love with the entire layout, location, and amenities. At first sight, we immediately knew that this house could help provide lifelong memories of good times and great family fun for many families. With sleeping for 12, you can bring the entire crew and not feel overcrowded. If you forget something no big deal! Just about every retail store you could possibly need is conveniently within a 10-minute drive!

What makes this property unique

This particular location on the San Bernard River has been known for over 60 years for amazing fishing and watersports activities by not only the locals but many people across the country. Drop the boat in the water at the boat ramp less than 1-mile away, wakeboard/wake surf, tube, ski, or cruise during the day, then sit on the dock and catch fish at night. The beautiful river and Live Oak trees are sure to help you escape your daily routine once you are unpacked from your travels. Let the kids play, pour your favorite beverage, and let the good times roll!
