About this property

General Mitchel Historic Home in Downtown Lebanon

Ormsby Mitchel was a Major General during the Civil War, and this was his home. He is also the founder of the Cincinnati Observatory which was America's first public observatory. His observation work of the planet Mars has two discoveries named after him (The Mountains of Mitchel on the Mars south pole and the Mitchel crater are named in his honor). The cities of Fort Mitchell Kentucky, Mitchell Indiana, and Mitchelville South Carolina are also named after him.

This updated historic home was built in 1814 and is in the heart of downtown Lebanon. Local shops and restaurants are within walking distance. Easy access to local attractions like Kings Island and the Miami Valley Casino. We offer 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths, and plenty of space to spread out. A charming place to stay when traveling for work, a romantic weekend, a getaway with friends, or a family gathering.

This beautifully decorated home is over 200 years old, but has been updated with all of the modern conveniences that you would expect in your own home.

Central heating and air conditioning are throughout the home. Two large bedrooms with comfortable king and queen beds, along with a kids bedroom that has a bunk bed. A full bath downstairs and another full bath upstairs.

The kitchen is fully stocked with new appliances for all of your cooking needs. There's a smart TV downstairs in the family room and also upstairs in the kid's room. WiFi access is available throughout the home. For your convenience, there's also a laundry room with a washer and dryer.

Wonderful respite for a sad occasion
We had come to the area for a funeral in Middletown. This home was perfect for us. We were able to meet our obligations with the funeral and time with family but had a space where we could relax and reflect in a quiet and comfortable home. The host was wonderful and attentive to our needs.

Loved your beautiful Home!
The 6 of us really enjoyed our overnight trip. We were very pleased with the location of your home, which was within minutes of the many little shops and restaurants. Your home provided everything we needed to cook our breakfast food that we brought along. Loved how you incorporated the new decor in with the old decor, which was an added pleasure. Thank you for your hospitality too!

A great place!
This place was wonderful, beautiful, and clean! It was a great place to stay before my wedding and offered enough space for my bridesmaids and I to get ready in the morning!
