About this property

King Bed, Views & Peace in Bayfield Guest House

This is a detached guest house of 520 square feet of living space on the ground floor. Bayfield is between Durango and Pagosa Springs: there is no need to change hotels in order to enjoy both tourist towns!

Normally I require a 2-night minimum stay. However, if it is late in the day and you would like to stay here for that night only, send me a message to see if it is possible...it just may be!

This guest house provides a studio layout. The king bed has a luxurious foam mattress. There is also a double futon bed and an inflatable single mattress available. The kitchen is stocked with dishware and cookware, coffee and tea, and has full-sized appliances and charming kitchen table. There is a storage area between the kitchen and bathroom for luggage, extra food, hanging clothes, etc. The bathroom is lovely with a large shower. There is ample parking in the driveway. We have a Blue Heeler puppy in the main house's back yard, which is fully fenced. Deer bed down during the day in the shade trees of the property. If you are looking for a peaceful place to stay that has beautiful Colorado views of mountains and valleys, away from the hustle and bustle of a crowded hotel world, this is the place for you!

Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad and Chimney Rock National Monument are local landmarks, and some of the area's attractions include Eagle Park and Southern Ute Cultural Center and Museum. Ute Park and Durango Arts Center are also worth visiting. Enjoy the area's slopes with snowboarding and skiing, and don't miss out on the snowmobiling.

It fit the bill!

We were looking for a place to stay in Bayfield while we visited family and friends. This home fit the bill! It was clean and in a quiet neighborhood. The weather was warm and on the first night we had a little trouble getting the room cool enough for us but we eventually did. Overall it met all of our needs.

It is a cozy overnight place to stay when you need a kitchenette and don't want to deal with a hotel. We were able to pull our car up to the cottage and unload. The host was very nice about shovelibg the pathway from the cottage to our car befire we awoke the next morning. It is small, but fine for a couple. The bed was comfy, shower was great, kitchenette was nice with full fridge. Only negatives were the furniture is arranged oddly as there are no bedside tables and the littke sofa was underneath the tv. Also in the bathroom the sink is tiny and there is no where to set your toiletry bag. Overall it worked well for our short stay, no complaints. I am just one to look for areas of improvement. 😃
