We had such a wonderful time in this historic home!! Karen’s the best telling us about the home and what we could do in the area! I would highly recommend this home for anyone interested in going to the Wisconsin Dells area!
Karen is a wonderful host. She takes a lot of pride in this property both inside and out. We loved the historic charm of farmhouse and the little touches, with the floral bouquets from the gardens, to the welcome card and the dove chocolates. We felt right at home.
What a delightful stay! Host is great with communication. What a warm welcome! House is soo clean and put together, property is really well taken care of. Fresh flowers from her gardens is just one more touch of how much she cares for her guests. Far enough from the business of the dells to enjoy peace and quiet. Close enough to visit the strip , attractions and all the parks and lakes.
The home was clean and spacious. About 20 mins from Wisconsin Dells. It was nice to get away from the busyness of the Dells. Would highly recommend staying here.
This was a really great place for our family to stay while we explored the area. The property comes well equipped and is very clean.
There are many things do do locally and we really enjoyed visiting Mauston and the Dells.
We would certainly stay again if we were in the area.
We stayed at the farmhouse as overflow housing for a nearby family vacation. It was perfect for our needs. The antiques throughout the house gave it the cozy grace of a bygone era. Coffee on the front porch before heading to family activities was the perfect start to our day. Meeting Karen at check-in and learning some of the history of the home was a bonus.
Great property, interesting history and wonderfully maintained. Comfortable beds. Steep steps to 2nd floor, but there is a main floor bedroom. Nice areas at the home for visiting, games, etc. The yard and flowers are beautiful. Carr Valley Cheese in Mauston was a fun stop. Only about 20 minutes to Lake Delton.
We recently stayed at the beautiful hundred-year-old farmhouse and had a fantastic experience. This was our first time using VRBO, and we couldn’t have asked for a better introduction. The property itself is full of charm and character, offering a perfect blend of history and comfort.
Karen, the owner, made the entire process seamless and was incredibly pleasant to work with. From the moment we booked until the end of our stay, she was attentive and ensured we had everything we needed. The farmhouse was spotless, well-equipped, and provided plenty of space for our family and friends to relax and enjoy each other's company.
Having visited Wisconsin Dells before, we were excited to experience it in a new way, and staying at this VRBO property truly made our trip special. We highly recommend this property for anyone looking for a unique and memorable stay in the Dells.

Very relaxing and central
We had a great week relaxing at the farm house! Karen is very friendly and helpful, and it was rejuvenating to spend time overlooking the planted fields and reading on the screened porch. The location was central to many things we wanted to do: bike the Elroy-Sparta trail, kayak in Wonewoc, pontoon on Castle Rock Lake, golf, and play in the Dells (Tommy Bartlett, mini-golf, Wild Rock Golf Course, and eat - twice - at the Cheese Factory). Things you might want to know that you can't tell from the website: 1) the beds are comfortable, 2) the bedroom that is pictured is roomy and also has a twin bed in it, 3) the other 2nd floor bedroom is charming and has a double bed, 4) the first floor bedroom is a bit cramped (the bed is up against the wall and there's a curtained-off stackable washer/dryer in the room), 5) all the bedrooms have large closets, 6) the road is close to the house (we slept with the air conditioner on so this only bothered us when were were talking on the porch), 7) the shower head in the first floor bathroom is very low (too low for the shortest of us - who is 5'4" - to be comfortable), 8) the second floor bathroom is cheerful and nicely decorated.
We thought the house was charming, a good value, and so much more comfortable than staying in a hotel!
Our experience was amazing. The house is beautiful and quite cozy. The location is very convenient I love the idea that I had the great opportunity to stay with my friends and family in a historic place. You need to visit and stay there to experience the marvelous feeling of being there. And the host is quite friendly and very accommodating.. To us she was very helpful and quite caring person.
We were looking for something different than a small and stuffy hotel room for a short family vacation. The Old Century Farmhouse gave us the room we needed as a family of 5 and all the amenities of home. Very clean and kept. Would stay there again.
Karen was an amazing, responsive host. She met us at check in and answered all questions. The house was immaculate and the small touches made it perfect for our girl's weekend away from husbands and kids!
I loved staying at this old farmhouse. Karen was a most hospitable host. If you’re looking for some peace and quiet this a great home to offer that. We watched deer and fireflies in the fields each night. My husband likes all the modern tech amenities, which this home doesn’t have, but my kids and I loved the beautiful grounds and screened in front porch was well utilized for morning coffee and evening games. The weather was hot and we were very thankful for the a/c in every room. Easy access to local lakes and the Dells; a beautiful 20min drive for most everything we did.
This was the perfect spot for a long overdue girls weekend with my mom & sisters. Karen was so welcoming & truly went above and beyond to make our stay special. We loved learning about the history of the house. Just so charming, clean, cozy and peaceful. Watching the sunset in the beautiful backyard was an unexpected bonus! Looking for a relaxing getaway? This is your place!!
Great place if you are looking for no frills, peace and quiet. The house has a wonderful history. It is spacious and comfortable but lacking some things I would normally expect (extra blanket and grill, for example).
The house was immaculately clean and was so welcoming. Karen was flexible with our check-in and responded to questions very promptly. We enjoyed cooking and playing games around the dining room table, drinking coffee on the front porch and picking apples from the apple tree. Highly recommended.
We had a fabulous time. Karen was super helpful with any questions we had. We were gone for most of the day during our stay as we where four wheeling but it was so nice to come back to a nice, cool house and relax.
Thank you again for the weekend getaway in the beautiful country house! We loved the stories and loved the views! But mostly we loved how at home we could feel sitting around the kitchen table playing uno or drinking coffee in the morning as the sun came up on the porch! Thank you again for the fun family weekend! We hope to do it again next year!
