The apartment was very nicely furnished, neat and clean, with plenty of towels, good water pressure, and it was mostly quiet.Unfortunately, the air conditioning was extremely inadequate. I realize it was in the 90's, but high temps are not uncommon in July and August. Since the listing said air conditioned, the apartment should have been properly cool. We were guessing it was near 80 inside. There is a small unit in the kitchen, but it is way undersized for the apartment, and the portable air conditioner provided did little more than blow somewhat cool air if you were standing directly in front of it. The master bedroom in the front of the apartment was completely unusable because of the heat radiating from the brick exterior. A second air conditioner in that room would have gone a long way in cooling down the place. As a result, my husband ended up sleeping on a twin mattress that we moved into the kitchen (directly under the only AC unit), while I slept in another bedroom with a fan blowing directly on me. We were in town for a funeral, and it was especially uncomfortable trying to get dressed in formal clothes when the apartment was actually warmer than the temperature outside. The apartment has many positive qualities, but the cooling issue had a significant impact on our stay. Any other time of year, it would have been a pleasant stay.
