The view from the apartment is amazing! It’s part of Hotel Schiff, and there’s several restaurants along the water to eat at. The Lion Monument was a quick walk away, and the train/bus/boat station is right there. We walked with our very large luggage from the train station without any issue. We were able to easily walk to the train station to get to Grindelwald First, Mount Pilatus, and the Lindt Chocolate Factory.
It may be good to bring earplugs just in case. Because you are above all the restaurants, you can hear people at all hours of the night; however, we had the windows open because it was in the 70s/80s. We closed the window one night and didn’t hear anything, so if you’re staying during a cooler time, that shouldn’t be a problem. Also, it seems the church bells ring at 6:45am on weekdays (again, the windows were open so maybe not so bad if they are shut).
A recommendation for the host is to provide more fans during the hot months, more towels (1 bath towel & 1 hand towel per person was provided), paper towels (there were none), and more toilet paper (we had 6 people and ran out and we were gone all day everyday using other bathrooms - there is a bathroom on another floor that you can use though). With all that said, we still highly recommend this place & would stay here again.
