This is our second time here and we love this place. Nice place and location. Owners are great to communicate with. Hope Maggie Valley recovers nicely from hurricane Helene.
The house was beautiful! Extremely clean, convenient, and provided in cabin entertainment. Host checked in via VRBO and was quick to respond to any questions. The suggestion of going to the end of the road and coming back down the mountain to enter the driveway was perfect for our Charger. 10 out of 10 for this rental!
The cabin was VERY clean. Comfortable beds and everything you would need for your stay was provided. My only advice to the owner would be to perhaps upgrade the living room seating. Although everything looked very nice, the couch and two leather chairs were not very comfortable for watching the nice big screened TV. This is just my opinion.
We visit the area every year for the apple festival. This year after the big storms we weren't sure if we could make it but thankfully the immediate area and cabin were okay. The surrounding neighborhood is cute and for us was calm. The road getting to the cabin is paved and not anything like some of the TN crazy switchback roads but the driveway directly for the cabin is steep so make sure you are prepared and have at least one person comfortable diving up steep driveways and an SUV or truck as a small car will struggle with it. The cabin itself was clean and pictures are a good representation of the rooms. Kitchen was well equipped and handled groceries for a few days for 4 people. There is a fireplace but was not available for our use. Wasn't a big deal for us but if it is for you that could be an issue. Bathroom were clean and towels were okay. Both bedrooms have queen size bed only if you are used to a king get ready to snuggle mattress was a bit firm but not overly firm so if that is your type of comfort you will enjoy it, i unfortunately need less firm but we walked enough for me to be exhausted so i got some okay sleep. We did not use the area amenities as we had other activities scheduled.
I've never ever in 20 years if rentals damaged my vehicle on a vacation. Everyone needs to know you almost need 4 wheeler to get in driveway assuming locals don't run off mountains. I've never had lockbox on thermostat. 80 degrees and heat on all day. Absolutely nothing but a vacuum to try to tidy. No extra sheets or blankets.
Overall really nice house. Would have liked to see better local TV reception. The TV worked over the WiFi system and their didn't seem to be enough bandwidth to support much. Local TV for weather and other information would have been nice. I would also suggest a shade or tint on the skylights. Midday sun really heats up the living room and makes the AC work hard. Not uncomfortable but as a suggestion to help on the cost of cooling. No ice trays in the freezer so be sure to buy ice on your way in. Overall a good place for 2 couples.
We really enjoyed our stay in the cabin. It was very comfortable and clean. You could tell the owners are proud of it and have furnished it very nicely. My kids had a great time with the arcade machine and the ping pong table. My wife got to see a couple of black bears which was nice. The only downside would be that there was no mention that the 2 bedrooms are on different floors. So with a 6 and 2 year old we ended up buying an air bed for them to sleep upstairs in our room as we weren't prepared to be able to keep them from climbing up and down the steep stairs or having them on different floors from us. Aside from that, we were pleased overall with our stay and definitely recommend it.
P.S. we drove a minivan and yes it's steep, but we had no issues getting up the driveway.

This property, although they don't mention it in the ad, is only accessible by 4 wheel drive!!
If you can get to it, this is a Beautiful, Clean Cabin, but accessibility is very, very limited... The ad doesn't mention that it is not accessible on 2 OR 4 wheels, unless it's 4 wheel drive! .. The Driveway is on a Very Steep Hillside on the side of a Mountain that is not Trailer Friendly, Motorcycle Friendly nor is it even accessible in a Mini Van... You will need a four wheel drive and need to be very brave to drive up or down this vertical driveway... Very disappointed with the entire experience of Renting this place... Rented for the entire weekend Friday thru Sunday and after a couple tries (one motorcycle was dropped on the way down and one was dropped on the way up, by very experienced riders!) We packed our bags and left early Saturday morning... Most Unfortunate experience! After contacting the owners, they said sorry thanks for letting us know about the driveway when they should have said Thanks for the $600.00 for the basically Unused weekend !! Beware of Ads that do not have clear photos and conclusive descriptions... The old saying; "if it's too good to be true, it probably is" applies to this property perfectly... Very Dissapointing and Expensive weekend!!!
