Enjoy a stylish experience at this centrally-located place. Located in Old Town walking distance to beach, shops, restaurants. Off street parking. Owners on premises, but you still have privacy. If you don’t like trains and church bells this is not for you. Owner has dog and cat. Completely furnished with vintage, modern, and antique cypress architectural elements. Everything is new. Wonderful art mural for photo opp. Private porch.
No smoking anywhere on property. No pets.

The location was great. You can walk anywhere in Old Towne. The train reminded me of going to see my Granny, we loved to hear the train go by. The decor and hospitality show the pride Valerie and Dave take in their property. It is perfect for two people, or just a get a way for one.

Weekend Getaway
My wife and I throughly enjoyed our weekend getaway to the Live Shack and Bay St.Louis. Our just Valorie was very accommodating to us. We will definitely be back to this cute and newly renovated cottage.

We are Valorie and Dave. We moved to our beach house 3 years ago. It’s a historic home built in 1870. We have been restoring it along with the guest cottage on the property that you will be staying in. Dave is a contractor who restored historic homes in New Orleans for 40 years. Valorie is an interior designer and author. They share their home with rescue pup Lily and bobtail tuxedo cat Kitty Kitty Bang Bang. Why they chose this property

This cottage is not the usual vacation rental. Every detail is beautiful and thought out. Dave collected antique cypress architectural elements and furniture during his career. Several have been retrofitted into the cottage, creating a one-of-kind experience. Valorie chose a mix of quality furnishings and art that you won’t see anywhere else. All new modern amenities have been installed.
The town of Bay St. Louis is a little gem. It is a town if art and artists. There are art murals everywhere on the buildings. Dave and Valorie commissioned local artist Tim Kennedy to paint a mural on a shipping container in the yard (used to store Dave’s tools in). It features a big beautiful butterfly that you can stand in front of for a photo for social media or your memory album. There is a butterfly garden in front of the main house that was planted by Dave and Valorie instead of a lawn. You are welcome to take pictures of it. The Love Shack is right in the middle of Old Town. You can walk to everything. The train runs right in front of of our property, something we love to watch. The train whistle is loud but not annoying to us. Church bells from Our Lady of the Gulf can also be heard ringing the hour.

What makes this property unique

Only 50 miles from New Orleans but a world apart. The Love Shack is close to everything. Walk, or rent a bike or golf cart to tool around town. Or take a drive and explore the beautiful waterfront Gulf Coast from Bay St. Louis to Biloxi. The town of Ocean Springs has wonderful shops, galleries, the Walter Anderson Museum, restaurants, etc.
