Large private condominium apartment at the resort condominium complex on the beach in sunny Kihei, Maui, Hawaii. 1 bedroom with private attached bathroom. 2nd bathroom down the hall with shower, large living area, dining area, kitchen with breakfast bar.

The Maui Sunset is located on over 5 acres of oceanfront at Kihei which is considered one of the best locations on the Valley Isle. Kihei is noted for its year-round sunshine, balmy trade winds, and soothing evening air. It is one of the driest and sunniest areas on the entire island, averaging only 10 inches a year! World famous swimming and snorkeling beaches are minutes away at+E3 one of the many sandy safe beaches at Kihei and nearby Wailea. Just a short distance (6 miles) from five championship 18-hole resort golf courses at Wailea and Makena. The two buildings frame and protect a large recreational area that is carefully attended and landscaped. The 60-foot swimming pool with its broad decks and abundance of pool furniture invites you to improve on your tan.

The staff did not advise us of the Fire. Terrible

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We arrived the day of the fire, we were not advised of it other than power was out and would be back on by midnight - not, the staff left Wed afternoon and did no return before we were able to evacuate, we had no power, no cell, no food and were told to fill everything we could with water we would need to boil it to drink. The space was not as pictured it's old and dated nothing like described.

Aloha, I'm so glad we were able to assist after you were evacuated from the Lahaina fire on August 9th. Looks like your review is for the previous property as you didn't check in at our condo until Thursday. Our property never lost power or had any issues with water etc. We do hope you return someday to Maui and our condo at the Maui Sunset. Mahalo, Steve

Coackroach infestation

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We just returned from our stay at the Maui Sunset. The room was very clean and the property is wonderful. Our only complaint is related to a significant infestation of cockroaches in our room. They were all over the kitchen area, inside the cabinets and even inside the dishwasher and coffee maker. We notified the property manager when we noticed how bad the bug problem was. She told us she would return in a few days with bug spray and a new coffee maker. She never returned or called us. We had to purchase this ourselves. They did not even offer to put us into a different room. We have stayed at the Maui Sunset several times and this has definitely been our worst experience.

If you went to the building office they should have had you call us directly. The condo you booked is cleaned by an independent company, but they should have provided immediate support.
