Cape San Blas
The house itself is as nice as shown, but the pictures make it seem like it’s sitting away from other houses and it’s not. You can almost reach out and touch the houses on both sides. Pics need to be updated. We stayed a week there and the entire time there was construction going on directly beside the house on both sides. We were told that construction was “in the vicinity” but that’s rather misleading. I reached out to the agency and they agreed and did refund me a small portion of my payment. We weren’t able to use the pool between the noise and construction workers everywhere. Granted the workers were very respectful, but who wants to swim with all of them out there overlooking the pool every day. Const. began by 7am each day and ended by 6:00-8:00pm each night. VERY LOUD. Video to prove. The “ocean” is the bay. Very little if any breeze and there’s more waves in a lake than there. The water is very shallow, dark and dirty. It has a Cape San Blas address but it’s more like Port St Joe. You can drive 10-15 minutes up the road and be in Cape San Blas’ pretty, blue, clear water. Restaurants are few and far between, expensive, and not very good. A lot of restaurants close by 5:00pm each day. Luckily we brought food to cook. Closest grocery store is 30 minutes. Kitchen is well stocked and has everything you need to cook meals. 3 days worth of towels for the 4 of us, but either bring extras or wash. If you are looking for quiet, semi private beach houses, I’d look elsewhere.
