☆☆ BEDROOM & BATHROOM ☆☆
A comfortable king-sized bed is your provision for a solid and peaceful night's sleep. There's also a Queen Bed, Full Bed, Trundle daybed (2 single beds)to accommodate 8 guests.
Adventurous families can add 2 more guests (at $10 per guest for extra sheets & blankets) who would enjoy the comfort of sleeping on the large comfortable sectional couch in great room. Infants under 2 years old can use the pack-n-play crib.
Features include a newly renovated hall bathroom with pedestal tub. The master bedroom has a full bathroom with shower.
☆☆ LIVING ROOM & GREAT ROOM ☆☆
The Living Room is an open area design with the retro real-wood paneling from the 1970's. Enjoy reading a book in the rocking chair by the gas fireplace. Or visiting while preparing meals in the kitchen.
The 300 sq. ft. Great Room with wood floors and cathedral ceiling brings the light and beauty the outdoors through 8 floor-length windows. Two french doors on either side is entryway to the west deck facing Lookout Mountain.

☆☆ OUTSIDE SPACE ☆☆
In addition to enjoying the pool, (open during the season) you can sit out on the patio and relax with the sounds of nature. Pool is open for swimming from April 7th - October 2024.
The front porch swing is a favorite space for watching the sunrise.
The West deck faces Lookout Mountain and the nearby ranch just walking distance away. The North deck (above the pool) faces a valley leading to Walker County Middle school and the direction of the historic Point Park on Lookout Mountain.
The home is in a very quiet part of the neighborhood. Listen to the sounds of cattle and horses at the nearby ranch while watching the windmill turn. There are no barking dogs or loud music. Rather, you'll hear the beautiful sounds of a crickets chorus at night & rhythmic birds chirping in the morning.
No other guests are on the property, although the owner may occupy the lowest level with a separate entry when she is not traveling. The only potential shared spaces are the pool and yard.
With the owner's frequent-travel lifestyle. she may be staying in the lower level apartment which is separate from the main house with a separate entry-way.
Expect to see a maintenance person on the property for upkeep of the pool and other yard work.
Otherwise, the property is completely private for guests.

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE:
The Wooded Writer's Retreat attracts high-quality guests who are very respectful of the home, property, and furnishings. Past reviews are read and guests are expected to abide by the house rules. Please ask for an extended checkout time if needed (and available). We look forward to serving you with the utmost comfort.
I'm hyper-focused on virtual meetings, Monday-Wednesdays from noon -6. But I will check my messages on those days. I just won't be able to respond immediately.
On all the other days, I am promptly available via text messages.
When you arrive, most all your questions are addressed in the manual. But I'm more than happy to interact with you and be available during your stay.
And I certainly respect your need for solitude. So no need to feel pressure either way. The main thing is that you feel comfortable, cared for, and well-rested. You're worth it.

About the host
Hosted by Andrew Keller

I love the outdoors! I'm in the pool every chance I get. I thrive on relationships and love it when the family hangs out. The five grandchildren fill my love tank and remind me of what matters most! As an advocate for human resilience and growth, I write, speak, and provide transformational experiences through facilitating retreats.
Why they chose this property
This Wooded Writer’s Retreat has been an idea in the making since experiencing MAJOR life transitions in 2020. The project of renovating the space has been a picture of my emotional healing and re-discovering my purpose on this planet. And part of that is hosting amazing guests who are ready for a soul-refreshing environment to relax, recharge or re-create their beautiful lives! It thrills me to provide this space for individuals, couples, or young families.
My former husband did EVERYTHING to make this place pleasant for me. He allowed me to spend time on my writing projects and seeing clients. But these days, I’ve taken over the necessary tasks in the upkeep of this home and property.
This space used to be “Mimi & Papi Joe’s” house. The grandchildren LOVED coming over for their backyard adventures. And they still enjoy the tire swing and pool.
But “Papi Joe” is no longer here. And it’s a long story. But I did write parts of the story. If you want to read more, it’s in my book, “Beyond Messy Relationships.” Some guests begin reading and then leave with an author-signed copy.
