About this property

Get away from the city and relax at Smith Lake! You will have a great view and a gentle sloped walk from the house to the water. Several floats, noodles, and a lilly pad await! You will also have 3 living spaces in the house to spread out, or gather together on our large back porch! We've made a lot of updates to this older home, and hope that you enjoy staying at our lakehouse.

Out of respect for our neighbors, no loud music or loud outdoor activities after 10pm.

Relaxing

This house was perfect for our family gathering. Enough space for adults and kids to spread out. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals for our stay. All linens were great quality. Bed were comfy. We enjoyed sitting around the fire pit, plenty of split firewood available. Nice proprty with some privacy, not facing directly toward other homes and shrubbery between homes. Pet friendly. We would definitely consider staying again at this location during summer next time so we can enjoy the lake more.

50th Birthday Weekend

The host was wonderful and this place has the most well stocked kitchen I have ever seen in a rental! The various living spaces made having video game playing teenagers easy! The only thing I would say towards the negative is if it’s an adult weekend be aware that the bedrooms are very close together and there isn’t much privacy in that respect. It was a wonderful fun filled weekend! Thank you!

Annual family Labor Day at the Lake

We have been coming to Smith Lake for the past 10 years and I can honestly say this was our best location! Being on the water is important to me because I can't do stairs any longer. The house was just right and very clean inside. We had 14 stay overnight and could have housed the couple that didn't make it this year. The owner was so gracious and easy to work with. I hope we get to come back again!

My sister and I have wonderful memories of summers spent on Smith Lake with our parents. They bought this property in 2005 when they retired. We love the lake so much we've decided to update the home with fresh paint, new floors, bedding, and decor. We honor our late parents Joan and Jim by naming the property Pate's Point. This is a picture of my parents not long after they purchased the property on the point of Raccoon Branch. They had previously owned a smaller cabin also on Racoon Branch since 1986, which my sister and I loved spending long weekends in the summer. We would swim in the clear deep water, water ski, and jet ski during the day and listen to the frogs and cicadas at night. Now that we are older we like to take relaxing boat rides to see the castle and feed the fish at Rock Creek marina. Or just relax in the lake or on the back porch. We hope you enjoy this property as much as we do.

Why they chose this property

This lakehouse has one of the best views of the lake. It is an hour from Birmingham and 25 minutes from Jasper, AL which has a hospital, restaurants, and shopping. It has 9 beds and 2 futon sofa/beds so it is big enough for multiple families or a group of fisherman to spread out and relax. We also have an open boat slip and open jet ski ramp for guests to use.

What makes this property unique

Pate's Point is 10 minutes from Curry, AL - grocery store, ACE hardware, Jack's, Subway, and Cujo's Pizza. It is also 8 minutes from Duskin Point Marina and 10 minutes from the public boat launch at Smith Lake Dam.
