We had a wonderful trip to St Croix and Sugar Bay House exceeded our expectations. The accommodations and the view were outstanding. The home easily held our party of 11 with 6 adults and 5 kids. We also appreciated the mid island location and proximity to Cane Bay.
The property is in a great location on the north side. Quick drive to beaches. House setup is perfect for a large family and the kids loved the pool in the afternoon. Communication with property manager was great.

Rented the property to house a youth basketball team and coaches and administrators while playing in a basketball tournament on the island. This property has several twin sized beds which were very useful with all the teenagers that were in our property. Beautiful view. Equipped with a lot of extras and host was very communicative. Enjoyable stay.

Accommodated 6 adults and 3 children. Each family had our own space. We loved how the 3 bedrooms and the guest house each had entry door open directly to pool area and each had its own bathroom with shower. Beautiful roomy living room and kitchen equipped with utensils needed. The pool side bar was very nice and convenient for our stay. The house had a beautiful view overlooking the ocean. We were close enough to enjoy all the beaches we explored. Enjoyed the Buck Island snorkling guide, sea thru kayak trip, and the Cruzan rum tour. Highly recommend a stay at Sugag Bay. You wont be disappointed.
Robin, the property manager made our families vacation an absolute dream! She’s accurate and as helpful as possible. We had a family reunion for my 70th birthday. All my grandchildren and children and spouses came for our trip. I helplessly couldn’t find a Chef for big dinners and because of robins great relationships with islanders, she sourced it for me in moments. She is w wealth of knowledge about her properties and her island St. Croix! Thank you for a vacation to always remember!!
The house was nice and had a great view. The property manager was very helpful with all of our questions. The downstairs apartment area was small but nice. If you are scared of spiders/bugs they seemed to be all over in the apartment. But that isn't something they could control. The house is right wooded area. The upstairs is a nice setup for a bigger group.

Disliked: Listing accuracy
The house has amazing views and plenty of space. We enjoyed sitting out at night and stargazing. This property has the potential to be fantastic but seems to have been neglected lately. Many of the lights did not work and switches were mislabled. Lights on the outside steps leading to the lower bedrooms did not work at all which posed a safety issue. The listing features need updated as it showed a pool table which we thought would be great for the grandkids, but there was no pool table. Some of the furniture had torn cushions or missing cushions. The house needs better provisions. It has very little kitchen cookware suitable for a large group. The downstairs bedrooms have a moisture issue and had a strong smell, perhaps mold or mildew. A dehumidifier is needed for sure. The most disappoining issue was we contated the host multible times and recieved replies and promises to address the issues, but many of them were never taken care of.
A multi-generational family of 13 vacationed here (including 7 kids ages 6 - 14) for 8 days. We had 1 maintenance issue that was remedied quickly and communication with property manager was excellent. We loved the location - up a steep drive and fairly secluded from neighbors - with amazing views! The island was easy to navigate with traffic being much less congested than on St. Thomas. The kitchen is small, but we didn't prepare many meals here, and it was adequate for our needs. We wouldn't hesitate to return - a very nice vacation home for a large group! There were beach chairs available that we used, and I brought a collapsible cooler that came in handy. We ate at several restaurants recommended by the Property Manager and all the food was wonderful.

Sugar Bay House
The space within the house was very efficient. Property itself was a little rough. Number of king beds was misrepresented and when I tried to discuss this with Prooerty manager I was pretty much ignored!

Good morning, We are sorry to hear you feel this way. We specifically stated in the listing and it is pictured, that there are two king beds. We also recommended a wonderful caterer, that provided dinner, the day of you arrival. Due to your flights being delayed several times, we were in touch with you all day Sunday until almost 10p at night, making sure you made it save at the property. We are sorry to see your response. We've recently completed several updates, additional furnishings in the living room, etc.
We came to the island for a destination wedding and had to book this house at the last minute after another host abruptly cancelled our reservation for 14 people. The hosts at Sugar Bay House were absolutely fantastic in getting us all checked in on short notice. The property was well maintained & landscaped. The pool deck was well appointed for relaxing. The rooms were all spacious & quite comfortable. There was even a pool/game table that the kids in our party throughly enjoyed. Oh and the views! The view from every angle of the property was spectacular! Because the house is atop a hill the drive in at night was a bit harrowing but after driving it in the daylight it was a piece of cake. Overall I would highly recommend booking Sugar Bay House for a large party/family stay in St. Croix.

The house offered ample room for our family. We had a few issues upon arrival but Robin corrected them immediately. The air conditioning in one room went down and within an hour she had someone fixing it. One bed was broken and a worker came and reinforced it better than new. After that everything was in working order. The kitchen needs to be better stocked for a family. There is one simple set of pots and pans. No bakeware or serving bowls. We used house decor to make mixing bowls and salad bowl for serving. Overall this was the best vacation and a beautiful place to stay. Be sure to go on the bioluminescent night kayaking trip. Best tour ever

Amazing views and a great property for large groups
Overall I would say our stay was great and the house was certainly nice for the size group we had. Some of the things in the listing and in the pictures were simply no longer at the house but overall they did not compromise our stay. The host was responsive and took care of some minor issues we had quickly. The check in information was not 100% clear but the host was able to provide the location of the code we needed when I texted her. In general the house could use some updates / fixes for things like random cables that are just draped across walkways, windows with signs that say "do not open this windows it is broken", and fans that do not have functioning remotes but overall these were all minor issues. Probably our one biggest "complaint" would be that the kitchen is VERY small especially when compared to the size of the house. Once again not something that would ruin a stay, just something to be aware of. I can honestly say we had a great time and I feel that the house, even with these issues, was a good deal and a great place for our family gathering.

Disliked: Communication
Communication with the host was poor; responses were erratic.
Prior travel directions and entry instructions were not provided.
Signage from the road was hard to read. The driveway, shared with several other houses, was scary steep and deeply rutted.
Access to the home was difficult - keys were confusing. Exposed outdoor cable lines posed safety hazards.
Once inside - among other things - doors were stuck; window handles broken; windows hard to open; faucet handles were broken; tiles were cracked; hot water was provided in one bedroom only; the poolside bar refrigerator was on the fritz; pool table was lopsided and had only one cue stick which was missing the felt tip. TV had 3 or 4 different remotes.
On a positive note, the views were amazing; the home was well designed and spacious - just not kept up.
Overall: meh.
This property has amazing views. A road map to this property would have been helpful. GPS lost connection trying to find this property so it took us an hour to find it. Access into the property was not shared until we arrived and had to message the host for lock box code. Reginald mentioned he was on a plane headed out of town and referred us to Jackie for additional info. Jackie wanted verification that we rented the downstairs unit and needed a receipt before she provided the access code. This could have been communicated in advance. I am displeased that we were not advised in advance that pool maintenance would be arriving. He accessed the property and startled us as we were not expecting anyone to walk right into the pool area. The downstairs bathroom had no hot water the entire time. The ad states $200-$300 restaurant voucher for a local restaurant that we never received. Communication was awful.
Overall this property needs maintenance. There were cob webs and ants moles at the front entrance walkway. I get it lots of bugs on a tropical island but needed stronger pesticide to maintain the critters.
It's a beautiful home but needs to be well maintained regulary.
Unsurpassed views. Loved how all the suites opened up to the courtyard. Lovely pool.
Sugar Bay was the perfect rental for our group. The rooms were comfortable, the living room views were phenomenal. The terrace was where we spend most of our time, perfect combo of sun and shade. We'll equipped kitchen. Our host was readily accessible and fixed problems quickly. We would definitely rent this property again. Great amenities.
8 guys on diving, fishing, golfing trip. House was exactly as represented, accomodated our group very comfortably.
Laurel made everything very easy, and was timely on all communication.
We've done this many times in the Caribbean over the years. This was definitely one of the best!

Mark,. it was definitely our pleasure; you and the guys were great guests!
We had 4 couples that stayed at Sugar Bay House for a week. It was so nice to each have our own separate bedroom with bathroom. The outdoor space is amazing and plenty of space for everyone to hang out. We hardly used the indoor living room at all. Laurel was great to communicate with. Unfortunately the pool cleaning service was unable to get there for the first two days but she made sure to keep in touch and get them there ASAP. I had asked for a recommendation for a private chef for our first night after check in and Laurel had me contact Ashley with Yaadie. Ashley was amazing and the food was so delicious! The views from this house cannot be beat from both the pool area and the huge windows in the living room. About 20 minutes to Christiansted which is very convenient. The biggest disappointment was that the pool needed some repair but after letting Laurel know I found that it is already in the process and materials had been delayed. This is a wonderful property in a great location with plenty of space for everyone!
If you are staying in St. Croix this is a great place to stay! Lovely home, great location and awesome customer service! We had 5 couples and 4 17-20 year old and the set up was perfect! Would definitely stay here again!!!
Set up nicely for couples/family with bedrooms around pool and large great room and kitchen area. Large pool area with comfortable loungers. Nice two bedroom apartment with bath and kitchenette downstairs. Awesome views.
