About this property
A charming spacious home away from home
This charming 3BR apartment is recently renovated from an old unique beautiful traditional Vietnamese house, conveniently and centrally located next to the Ancient Town (less than 900meters to famous Japanese Bridge).
Surrounding by an authentic neighborhood, it is a hidden gem and tucked away from the crowded tourist area.
Amazing values for family, friends or just anyone who want to have unique experiences of staying comfortably and privately in a truly local home.
**THE SPACE**
The 3-bedroom apartment is charming, spacious and unique.
There is a bright bedroom in the front with furnished balcony where you can sit and watch the life of local people pass by.
Next is another bedroom with en-suited bathroom
Then the Japanese influenced bedroom is between the kitchen and the lounge.
The lounge is beautiful, spacious, and comfortable with traditional Vietnamese solid wood furniture, where everyone can sit, relax and have a good chat after a long day of exploring the town.
There are two spacious bathrooms inside the apartment.
An extra mattress will be provided in case if you need it.
The entire apartment is separate on the second floor of an unique two-story house with French- colonial architecture and can be accessed via front staircase
Parking is available for both cars and motorbikes.
During the rainy season around October and if the hurricanes hit the town, the alley in front of the house turns to a river . You can literally watch the boats passing through from your balcony.
**NEIGHBORHOOD**
The house is within walking distance of the ancient town, the tourist places, and the local center.
Turning left from the house, you will get to Hung Vuong, where there are supermarkets, local street food, shops and a temple etc along the main road. Keep walking for around 700 meters and you will reach the Ancient Town.
Turning right from the house and walk for less than 10 mins and you will get to famous Hoai river in the middle of Ancient Town. On this path, you will pass an authentic "My Quang" shop from an old lady and a silk lantern-making shop in this alley. Next is 18 thang 8 and Dao Duy Tu street where lots of new hotels have been built recently, and finally you will reach Hoai River, a branch of Thu Bon river, often called the “Mother River” as it brings about rich layers of alluvial soil and bestows an abundance of fish on local fishermen.
Hoai River seems to exude its most enchanting beauty at sunset time. In the twilight, the river looks like an oil painting splashed with trees and houses on the riverbank. It’s time for you to take a sunset boat ride to indulge yourself in the dreamy atmosphere of Hoai River.
Everything is much more magical at night in the river area with the combinations of the beautiful silky lanterns, the colorful lights, the boats, the river, the old wooden houses, e the local street foods, the night market… just like a romantic scene out of a movie.
If you travel during the rainy season (around October) and if hurricane hit the town this time, you will see another sense of Hoi An that you don't often see as most of houses and places around Hoai River are under the water. The local people use boats for transportation and scaffolding to lift everything.
Some tourist find it interesting to visit Hoi An during this time as they can take the boat for sightseeing , and see how the local people carry on their lives as usual with the seasonal flood . It is just apart of their life.

About the host
Hosted by Van

My previous life was all about traveling and adventure. I was living in London for 6 years and have been fortunate to be in more than 20 countries. Traveling broadens my mind and gives me a better appreciation of life. Based in Ho Chi Minh city with the second home in Hoi An and Hanoi is where i grew up, I hope to bring the same experience to travelers & guests. I am now a proud single mom of an 8 years old boy.
