About this property
Enjoy Central District Colonial House 'La Gran Sultana' + pool
Granada city, once known as “La Gran Sultana” because of its beauty and location on the lake, is just the right spot for “Casa La Gran Sultana”. This home is located 2 blocks from the Parque Central and is walking distance from popular restaurants, shops and museums. The home was totally rebuilt in 2002, maintaining the colonial style. In august 2011, a pool was added into the patio of the house and integrated into the fountain that was previously installed. The result is just great! The garden has been rebuilt completely.
Casa La Gran Sultana is definitely “GRAND”. From the street, whenever you open one of the 2 antique double door, you get first to a huge “saguan” with a first set of rocking chairs. This room is used to receive people from outside or take the fresh air coming from the lake at sunset.
Once the door is closed, the noise from the street recedes and you get into a wide 3 fold corridor around the garden.
Note: one of the 2 doors to the street provides a confortable access & Parking for a 4x4 or van.
The main corridor which brings you to the center of the house is equipped with additional seating facing the pool and hammocks between the exotic wooden pilars. The garden is full of tropical plants and a magnificent mango tree provides a good shadow. At 6am in the morning, whenever the city awakes and the sun appears this is the place to be, as the birds (including humming birds) are flying over to drink.
The left side corridor is equipped with the internet and TV set, the right one hosts the main diner table.
The kitchen is located at the center of the home between the two outer gardens. It is spacious and has everything you need to prepare a meal or just a simple snack.
A room is located on the main floor with an exit on the patio. A bathroom is on the back of the room. A dormitory bedroom is located in the back garden area with 3 to 4 beds.
Upstairs on the balcony the view is spectacular on the roofs of the surrounding houses. The two large bedrooms open onto the patio. The master bedroom has a private bath, king bed and large closet. The second upstairs room has a private bath, one full bed and a twin bed. The antique wood staircase and wood floors are not only beautiful but will take you back in time when things were a bit simpler.
4 bedrooms have aircon.
Important: There is a water tank at the back of the house to ensure a smooth in-house water-supply.

About the host
Hosted by Laurent Cremer

I am French. Back in 1985, I spent 18 months in Nicaragua, working to develop alternative energy sourcing in Ometepe, the main island in the Nicaragua lake. In 1988 I married a Granada young lady, and 5 children came. Since then we come back whenever we can.
