About this property

Mountainside Japanese Teahouse with heated salt water pool and tennis court

Come and stay at the Hudson Valley's only Japanese Teahouse, our hidden gem sits on the south facing side of a mountain cliff at the far end of 12-acre sanctuary. Surrounded by Japanese gardens, a heated saltwater pool, and stunning mountain views. This sweet spot is just a 5-minute drive to Woodstock for food, shopping and entertainment, close to skiing, hiking trails, 20 minutes Saugerties, Kingston, Phoenicia.
Try some "forest bathing" while you watch the sun set behind the mountains from your eco-friendly king-sized bed heated bed with Sferra linens or relax outside on the wrap around patio. The well equipped kitchenette, with fancy coffee and Japanese Matcha tea has most of the basics one needs for cooking up a culinary masterpiece. The spa bathroom with rain shower and Malin and Goetz product for a little luxury. We also have a seasonal outdoor shower, with hot water! Enjoy your own private mountain side.
As our guest, you have unlimited access the Onsen style heated saltwater pool (open mid-May thru mid-October) and the tennis/pickleball/basketball court. Access to the teahouse is through a seasonal private road with 4WD or a 300-footish stroll through a meadow, alongside the Japanese Gardens and fountain, and enchanting woods. Experience this unforgettable retreat that transcends the ordinary.

Booked a week, was so bad we only stayed one night
Where do i start? Just trying to drive up to the place in an SUV almost ruined my undercarriage, I felt like I was on a muddy trail in the woods. Upon arrival, I did not realize the cliff they spoke of was something you needed to walk up with all your stuff. Bring good shoes, the walk is uneven and rocky. The pool is not private and you need to share it with the other guests, the hot tub/spa is not hot. Oh and the owners house looks right over it and into your bathroom. So I don’t know about the privacy they speak of? The doors don’t close all the way, bugs are free to come and go, no TV, no freezer. Don’t waste your money like we did, the owner offered to give us some money back but we never heard from her again. On a plus side the wifi was good.

Catskills oasis
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Teahouse. The land is beautiful and so quiet. What an exquisite place to recharge and commune with nature with modern comforts. Communication with Lisa was easeful and straightforward. We cannot wait to return.
