About the host
Hosted by Melinda Rice

I grew up in Wanette and this little house has been in my family for 100 years. House has totally been remodeled 4 years ago and I have been renting out to travelers for the past two years. It's been a rewarding experience.
Why they chose this property
The house has been in the family for many years. The Rice Hotel used to be located in the same spot. My name is Rice and even though the house was built for my great grandparents in the 1920's. I still think of it as the Rice Hotel.
What makes this property unique
I still think of all the travelers that came in off of the train and stayed at the Rice Hotel which was on the same lot. On the same property used to be Puckett's Radio and Appliances. The Rice Hotel closed in 1918 and the appliance store closed in 1954. So the area has some historical charm.
