About this property

Welcome to your own private New Mexico resort nestled at the edge of a scenic neighborhood! This is our second home that we frequent often; therefore, it is fully equipped for a comfortable stay. Minutes from NMSU, and close to all that the area has to offer (Old Mesilla, Farm & Ranch Museum, gateway to White Sands, etc.); or stay in and enjoy a pristine sunrise over the Organ Mountains, and view the sprawling green Mesilla Valley from the front courtyard. Just out the back door, the natural backyard leads to walking, hiking, and biking trails that meander through the high desert.

Magnificent Property

The house is spacious and comfortable with spectacular views of the Organ Mountains from the dining room, living room and back porch. Jr. and Jessica were very helpful in responding to our questions. The area at the back of the house kept us entertained with regular visits from quail, javelinas and jack rabbits. There were walking trails right out the back door and more challenging trailheads within a short drive. We thoroughly enjoyed our month long stay and recommend the property highly.

Great Location

We had a great time here. This was a very nice and roomy house. Very clean and had tons of stuff to use for cooking and cleaning. Close to everything also. Thank you for a great place.

Gorgeous home with stunning views!

We loved everything about this gorgeous home! The house itself is gorgeous, comfortable, spacious, and well-appointed. The natural backyard is a spectacular space for bird watching, hiking, enjoying sunrise over the mountains, and viewing the night sky. We spent a lot of time on the back patio, where we saw jackrabbits, lizards, families of quail, and other wildlife. We also watched the sunset over Las Cruces from the front courtyard and driveway. We will definitely stay here next time we visit Las Cruces!

Hosted by Jr & Jessica

Jr designed & built this house 12 years ago with a local builder. He lived in it as his bachelor pad for almost a decade until we got married & I talked him into moving to TX where I am from! We have been blessed to be able to keep this second home, and frequent it often throughout the year to visit family that still reside in Las Cruces. We hope it brings you the same comfort and joy that it does us when we stay in it. -Jessica

Why they chose this property

It is in a nice, safe, custom home neighborhood. While just a mile from NMSU, and about 5 miles from Old Mesilla, it feels very removed from the hustle and bustle of Las Cruces. Furthermore, the pristine views out the back of the home make you feel like you’re at a remote southwest resort. Other than seeing family, our favorite things to do when we visit are to hike & eat! There are stunning hikes easily accessible from the house that range from easy to challenging. You can walk out on trails right from the back door or drive a couple miles down the road to hike some of our favorite Organ Mountain hikes: Dripping Springs where are can hike to the ruins of an old hotel and sanitarium; Baylor Pass which provides stunning views beyond Las Cruces; and Soledad Canyon which leads to a seasonal waterfall. Si Senor is our favorite restaurant for local NM fare with great red & green chile dishes. Pastaggios has the best homemade pizza & pastas—it is take-out only.

It is comfortable, clean, and uncluttered. We have a wonderful cleaning lady, quick responding skilled laborers, and family nearby to address any needs that may arise during your stay.
