About the host

I’m passionate about travel and outdoor adventures, from snowboarding down winter slopes to hiking scenic trails and mountain biking through rugged terrain. That love for active, nature-filled experiences is what drew us to Vermont—a place where mountains, forests, and endless outdoor opportunities are right in our backyard. I thrive on exploring new destinations, embracing adventure, and making the most of every season.
Why they chose this property
Lake Willoughby, often called the “Lake Lucerne of Vermont,” is one of the Northeast Kingdom’s most stunning natural gems. Nestled in the town of Westmore, this deep glacial lake stretches more than five miles and is framed by the dramatic cliffs of Mount Pisgah and Mount Hor. Its crystal-clear waters are perfect for swimming, kayaking, paddleboarding, and fishing for trout, salmon, and bass.
Beyond the lake, outdoor enthusiasts will find endless opportunities year-round. Scenic hiking trails wind through the surrounding hills, offering panoramic views, and fall brings brilliant foliage that draws photographers and leaf-peepers from around New England. In winter, the area transforms into a quiet snow-covered playground, with world-class skiing and snowboarding just a short drive away at Burke Mountain Resort and Jay Peak. Snowmobiling, ice fishing, and snowshoeing add to the region’s four-season appeal.
Despite its natural beauty, Lake Willoughby remains unspoiled and serene, with a mix of cozy inns, lakeside cabins, and campgrounds rather than large resorts. Visitors can enjoy the peaceful pace of Vermont life while being close to charming small towns and local dining. Whether you’re looking for summer adventures, fall color, or winter sports, Lake Willoughby and the surrounding Northeast Kingdom offer an unforgettable Vermont experience.Lake Willoughby, often called the “Lake Lucerne of Vermont,” is one of the Northeast Kingdom’s most stunning natural gems.
