Great property, lacking details

Honua Kai is a wonderful property and we have stayed multiple times. The property is a condominium resort, and many of the units are rented by owners and/or through property managers. This listing is for a condo unit listed directly by the resort. We found it to be lacking in some of the amenities we have come to expect from VRBO properties in the area. There were no beach amenities. (chairs, umbrella, etc.) so we had to buy new or rent for a similar price as buying. We left the chairs and umbrella we bought for future guests, but they may be removed because the resort wants guests to rent from them. Other units in this and other properties, listed by individuals and rental management agencies rather than by the property itself, have always offered those basic amenities. Some other amenities were slim, such as laundry detergent for one load which left us going to the store for more. Wifi was not functioning for the duration of our stay. This was quite a problem because we had marginal cell service through Verizon. We had difficulty loading web pages, sending messages containing video or still photos, accessing Slack and social media platforms, and even text messages were often undelivered. The management refunded our resort fees due to the wifi/internet issues. I should note that many units have private internet routers. The one we were in through this listing does not, and relies on the property-wide wifi network, which is unsecured. Our credit card info was stolen and fraudulent charges were attempted near the end of our stay. There is no way to be sure, but I suspect the unsecured network was our biggest vulnerability. The property is undergoing an exterior painting. It's a great update, but certainly impacted our stay. We woke to workers on our lanai pressure washing. The next day, workers covered and wrapped up our outdoor furniture. The property issued us a modest refund for the disturbance. Hopefully the project will be complete and future guests will be the benefactors! Overall, the property is very nice. And I will say that every employee was extremely kind, responsive, and went above and beyond in their effort to enhance our stay.
