Really enjoyed being in town in Ephraim, walkable to beach/shops/restaurants and a short drive to Peninsula State Park. The house was obviously recently made into a VRBO and was very nicely furnished.
The last couple of summers we stayed at the cottages connected to what is considered the finest and most historic hotel in Ephraim but after experiencing a colony of ants in the kitchen and a bathroom that was in decay, among other issues, we decided to look for alternatives and give the hidden springs home a try. We are so glad we did. Our entire experience was seamless. The house was immaculate and spacious. Communications with the property manager and housekeeping were a breeze. We were so happy with our stay that we plan to rent it again next summer. The only negative for some people may be that there are only partial bay views because the homes across 42 partially block the bay.
We felt the house was more beautiful than the pics on line, it was so comfortable, simple and clean.
The bed/bedding was ok. I would have enjoyed more blankets- the blanket on my bed was too small to cover the whole bed.
We stayed early August 2022. 3 adults, 3 teenage children.
The home was originally an art gallery so the layout is a bit quirky. Wooden floors throughout, two downstairs sitting areas are great, also a giant dining room that can seat up to 8.
Upstairs has 4 bedrooms around a full bathroom. The bathroom is fine, shower head is about neck level for a 6' person.
The 2nd bathroom is downstairs through the kitchen and also serves as the Laundry room. So people have to shower downstairs and walk through the kitchen back upstairs to the bedrooms.
AC works great downstairs, its just ok upstairs. Wifi is fantastic, works everywhere.
Outdoor patio on the back (doesnt face lake) with a small for 6 people to sit around.
Walking distance to Ephraim public beach, Wilsons, a bunch of shops. Plenty of parking, could have 3-4 cars here easy.
Its definitely a work in progress, I know the owners renovated it and you can see that especially in the kitchen which was great. It just has a bit of quirky layout with the lower bathroom connected to the kitchen.
We enjoyed our time, the property mgmt company helped us whenever we needed (fuse blew which could be expected on an older home).
