Perfect little spot for our stay. Everything was spic n span, beds were comfortable and everything we needed was available. Whether you're looking to vacation in the Big Horns, have a family get together or just need a quick getaway, the quaint town of Shell and this sweet cabin is a great way to take it in!
Had a great time. Location and amenities all good. Really comfortable beds. Very cozy and western feel. No tv was a positive, not much good in news anyway. Made the get away even better.
Me and my buddies stayed for for 5 nights and it exceeded our expectations the one and think is the steepness of the steps going downstairs but we were aware of it and not an issue
A beautifully restored cabin that is very comfortable and conveniently located adjacent to the Bighorn Mountains. Lovely outdoor spaces add to the charm of this cabin and our group of hikers spent many evenings relaxing on the back deck. The cabin is well appointed and offers comfortable beds and linens and was very clean. The stairs to the basement bedrooms are steep and quite small, so may be challenging for some people but we would not hesitate to rent this cabin again!
Our stay at the Shell cabin was truly fantastic. The cabin was well represented, rustic with a steep staircase. The beds, furnishings and appliances were nice and more that acceptable. The decor and everything provided was incredible.
We will definitely try to stay there again.
I do not recommend defecating in the lower bathroom. The macerator pump causes a nasty smell in the upper level, but that is the absolutely on vice.
Overall the stay was great. Great amenities. Hot water heater went out and was fixed the same day. The only cons were posted in previous reviews and we understood.
Steps are extremely narrow - 5.5" wide with no railing. Both bedrooms downstairs with bathroom in one of the bedrooms so you are walking in others or taking steep stairs. Bathrooms do have a sewer smell.
The place is very nice with recently remodeled downstairs bedrooms. The only negative was that there is a powder room bath in the bedroom with the queen for overnight use but the other two twin bedroom had no bathroom. So those staying in the two twin room had to either bother those in the queen bedroom or traverse up the very narrow and steep stairs to use the full bath on the main floor. It wasn't an issue for us in general but renters should be aware of that and the stairs leading down to the bedrooms are very steep. A sturdy railing would be very helpful.
Very cool place. Immaculately clean with everything we needed. Quirky layout made for a memorable stay. All as described. Even had turkeys parading through the backyard. Great place!
