A great home to come and relax in, this location is truly hard to beat; the vibes are immaculate. Every room (aside from the kitchen) has a functioning Smart TV with multiple streaming services available throughout. The kitchen contains everything you'd want and need to prepare something in the kitchen! From a Dutch baby, paella pan, and tart tin to a trillion spices, a stunning kitchen island, and a Brita water filter, there's so much you could make if you read a recipe book! My favorite is "Dessert Person" by Claire Saffitz (Try the Chocolate Chip cookies if you get the chance!). Please sit inside the dining room after cooking or ordering a parrillada from El Pato or tacos from Taco Palenque and watch a movie using the 55" TV! My home was decorated and designed with a lot of care for aesthetic and functionality, and I do hope you enjoy booking with me.
The Basilica de San Juan del Valle is a 2 minute drive from the house. Truly is such a gorgeous walk as there are life-size statues depicting the crucifixion of Jesus, but is such a unique experience regardless of religion. I walk my dog, Flora, there every morning (its 0.75 mi total to walk the entire thing). Across the street is the gorgeous Geldman's Stained Glass Museum, which I also recommend going to check out. The outside is all black to help preserve the interior show room regardless of time of day, it is very similar to a cathedral in the interior!
The real kicker is the amazing food you can get in the area. Ranging from really affordable and banging, to moderately priced and very delicious, many of the restaurants (and taquerias) I enjoy if they are local. Try a Bistek or Al Pastor "street" taco if you get the opportunity! You will find incredible Mexican and Tex-Mex food on many streets. The house is 5 minutes from two grocery stores (including HEB Plus), 2 minutes from the Freeway, and 10 minutes to McAllen/Pharr. If you need recommendations, please feel free to ask! I have some great spots to check out :D
