About this property

Historic Bland-Overall home on 508 private acres. Blue Oval/Etown Sports Complex

The Bland-Overall House was built circa 1850 and is on the National Historic List. It is on the Nolin River, and also part of Camp Nevin, which was a Union Army Camp. Enjoy long walks, canoeing, kayaking, exploring our river cabin, the parlor, etc. You get to enjoy a ultra private location that is only 3 miles from the Blue Oval SK site and 7 miles from the Elizabethtown Sports Complex!

This pet-friendly home is close to Louisville, Bowling Green and the Bourbon Trail as well. It is a sister home to our house, where Nolin River Wildlife is located as well. Identical homes, actually built for two sisters over 160 years ago!

This is a very private setting in a historical home. There are 3 bedrooms, 1 with a king and 2 full beds. We have also just added a bedroom air conditioner for each of the three bedrooms to ensure you can control your own temperature when you go to bed!
However, the house does have central/heat and air, the individual air conditioners just for preference of temperature in each bedroom!

Great outdoor space with a fire pit, grill, table and chairs. We also put up string lights for you to enjoy the space after dark. Fire starters, matches, seasoned/split firewood and extra propane is included.

Also has a great game room with a poker table, bar and practice craps table! Also have many board games, jenga and backgammon as well. We also just added a basketball goal and a kayak for your enjoyment! Kayak in detached garage where basketball goal is.

Could also enjoy dinner at Tony York’s or The Whistle Stop in town, both wonderful!

Also enjoy the fully stocked kitchen to prepare your meals. Dishwasher in kitchen island.

There is a record player/cd/radio in the parlor. Also have a wireless/Bluetooth portable speaker in same room to use while at fire pit or down at the river! Also a Bose radio/cd player upstairs in the king bed room.

Our farm is home to Nolin River Wildlife as well. Let us know if you would like to visit the animals and even perhaps help feed some of them as well!

Guest access
You will be able to access the entire house as well as the outbuildings. There is an original summer kitchen as well as a child playhouse.

You and your guests are also welcome to use our two car garage while you are @ the farm as well.

My wife also runs Nolin River Wildlife on the farm. Guests will be gladly given a VIP tour and you might even have a chance to feed a few baby animals! If you have a chance, check out “Boone the Raccoon” on YouTube!!! You will get a chance to meet him too!

Other things to note
Absolutely private setting and no worry about traffic, etc. The driveway is a private drive almost a mile long that dead ends @ the house! In season you will have your own pumpkin patch in the backyard. Feel free to pick your favorite and take it home! Also fresh mint just outside the laundry room door in season as well.

Just in case you want to make your visit even more special, we have two very cool options to explore...................

London's Bridge Photography is owned by my niece, Ashlee Tomes. She is a full-time award-winning photographer. I know she is my niece, so just take a look for yourself! She has done many sessions @ the Bland-Overall House. Take a look @ londonsbridgephotography.com

We also have a very special chef in the area! Chef Brandi was on the MasterChef show, season 7 and was the runner up. She has been featured on the MasterChef Cruise and is returning to the new edition of the FOX show, Titled "MasterChef: Back to Win" and is going to be tougher than ever as 20 former contestants are returning for another shot at winning the coveted title.

Brandi does private chef functions as well and will be glad to discuss menu, prices, etc. Just let me know. Brandi has done some things @ our house and is such a pleasure to work with. You may view her full menu and contact her @ southern-flair.com. Also can email her @ southernflairwithchefbrandi@g mail.com

Wonderful secluded retreat
Our family came into E-town for a baseball tournament for our oldest son and stayed at the Bland-Overall house. Jeff and Mary were incredibly accommodating and thought of all the details for our stay to make us feel welcome. The house and property were amazing! Our family’s favorite thing was the Nolin River Wildlife. It is a must see while staying on the property. The seclusion and quietness were such a treat for our family. The boys played lots of whiffle ball in the front yard and did a lot of fishing. I definitely recommend this property!

Peaceful Bliss!
We had a lovely stay! This beautiful, historic house has the feel of a comfortable family home, with beautiful views of the countryside from every window. Mary and Jeff were amazing hosts. We have already booked our return visit.

A perfect getaway
We stayed in Glendale for our sons week long baseball tournament in Elizabethtown. It was a perfect escape after each day full of games. The house was charming and the land was so peaceful. We even had the entire team over for a cookout and all the boys loved being able to play some whiffle ball and see deer in the yard!

Your Own Secluded Slice of Paradise
I cannot say enough about this property or it's magnificent owners. This place is as authentic as it gets. The property's rich history is fascinating. The story of its origin is endearing and extraordinary..... And I have yet to speak of the home and property itself. It is exceptionally secluded and about as private as you can possibly get. You can equate it with being on an island. One in which the owners have gone to great detail to think of everything you could need. If you want to enjoy a true escape this is it. A perfect place to have as much space as you desire with its large yard and surrounding property including the Nolin River which runs right through it. The home itself is genuine, authentic and true to its rich history and the heritage and era in which it was built, but with all of the modern day luxuries we have become so dependent on.... Though while here you may begin to question just how much you really need them vs. how much these things interfere with living the way that we could and should. This brings me to the owners, which again I can not say enough about. The Keys live the life people like me have dreamed to live for a long time....they live right, they pride themselves on doing good by others and giving of themselves to the world around them. A visit to their wildlife sanctuary is strongly recommended. I assure you that when you depart you will be changed and it is for the better, young and old alike. This property would not be the same without them. My family and I have already starting talking about annual family reunions on this property that had such a lasting impact on us all. Thank you J & M Nothing short of an epiphany for me and my family. YOU INFLUENCED A CHANGE IN ALL OF US.

Perfect getaway
This property is more beautiful in person and the pictures do not do it justice. You HAVE to see it in person! The ceilings are tall and the hardwood floors are gorgeous. If you're a history buff, this is a place you will love! We were welcomed like family when we had the opportunity to meet the host Jeff and his lovely wife Mary. Not only did they leave a beautiful basket of snacks for us, but they invited us to their wildlife sanctuary where my 6 and 4 year old fell in love with the baby deer, raccoons, and squirrels. Jeff and Mary showed us around and my father was in heaven with the farm and history of the property! I cannot tell you all of the great things about this property and the people who own it. I cannot wait to go back!

My name is Jeff and my wife is Mary. We have lived on this farm for 26 years now. We live in an identical house in the next field over as they were built for sisters in the 1860s. We are excited to begin sharing such a unique setting with others. Thank you for looking and we look forward to meeting you and your guests.

Why they chose this property

I give my guests space but am available when needed
We live on the same farm, I will respect your privacy, but just let me know if you need anything and I am glad to help. Also let me know if you want a tour of the farm and Nolin River Wildlife.

What makes this property unique

Historic and very quiet. In the middle of our farm, so you will have complete privacy and peace. Also enjoy going to the river or taking long walks on the farm if you choose.
