About this property

The Ranch Hand - Epic River + Mountain Views

Welcome to Tobacco River Ranch! With more than 450 acres adjacent to State Forest, and nearly two miles of river running through our property, endless adventure awaits!
Originally an old forest service logger's cabin, The Ranch Hand was refurbished it with lots of love, and this structure found it's retirement home at the Tobacco River Ranch perched high on the hillside with epic views of the Canadian Rockies and the Tobacco River.

Glamping = Glamorous Camping. Our rustic cabins are well furnished and comfortable. We provide everything you need for comfort, in a beautiful, private, quiet setting. There is no power in the cabin, solar lights provided.

Guests have access to a community kitchen, bathrooms and showers, as well as tubes and bikes. The Ranch Hand is a private cabin sleeping 2 - we can add a cot for an extra charge, or if your party is larger, we have a tent we can put next to it for an additional fee. (email us!) The Ranch Hand is one of 6 units at Tobacco River Ranch. Check out our other listings. We host weddings and family reunions too!

Whether your thing is hiking, biking, swimming, rock climbing, fishing or forest bathing, we've got you covered. Come for the recreation, Let us handle the set up, and stay to relax!

You will experience wildlife, great vistas in a natural setting, but in the comfort of a comfy queen bed with linens supplied. (And a bath towel, beach towels not supplied.) ++There is rugged terrain on the property, and hills, and you will need good walking/hiking shoes. this unit is up a small hill (that's how you get the views!)
++ You can unload 100-200 feet from your cabin, but park in designated parking. ++Toilets are also 100-200 feet from each cabin or camper.

Please note our liability waiver: You understand that staying on our property is at your own risk and that special risks may be involved with swimming, walking, hiking and staying in our units. You accept full responsibility for any bodily injury that may arise from any activity while staying in our units. Concert venue stay
This was a lovely property and stay. Once we were on the ranch, it was perfect. I just wish the property owner would have given us check-in details the day before, so we weren’t locked out and driving around at 5 o’ clock the day of check in.

About the host

Hosted by Nikki Eisinger

Host profile image
Hi! We are Karl, Nikki and twins Coco and Franka. We've travelled and/or lived all over the world, and are blessed to call this piece of heaven home.

Why they chose this property

We do our best to be good stewards of the land ~ from river restoration, to regenerative farming, our aim is to share it with others, and leave it better for the next generation. Our ranch is a special place. Rails to Trails/part of the PNW Trail runs through the property, as does the Tobacco River. We recognize that these are the traditional lands of the Kootenai tribe, who fished this river, and grew a ceremonial tobacco here, giving the area (Tobacco Valley) and the river it's name.

What makes this property unique

If you find comfort in the sound of highway noise, crowds, or nightlights, our ranch might not be for you! =) We work hard to ensure a quiet and serene setting where you can watch wildlife, gaze at the milky way or see northern lights, and (hopefully) unplug from the hustle and bustle of our high tech world.
